Evening Reception following wedding abroad

    Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on venues etc for an evening reception. We are planning to get married in Barbados in early 2010 and while we have more or less picked the location we won't be able to book anything until early next year. Probably only around 10/15 people heading over with us for the wedding so we've planned to have a bit of a bash when we get home for everyone.
I'm in the process of looking at venues to hold a session somewhere in the vicinity of Clondalkin. I'm just wondering if anyone has held evening receptions in places like the Red Cow etc. Realistically we are looking at hiring a function room for around 100 people with finger food. My OH knows loads of DJ's so there is no problem with that. I ideally want to pick somewhere that has accomodation if needed. I am also wondering if people feel it is neccesary to have a blessing etc following a marriage abroad. Neither of us are particularly religious but we have a neighbour who has recently become a presbyterian minister and who has offered to do a blessing for us at the reception. Neither of us are presbyterian but an offer is an offer!!!!

    Any advice would be appreciated!

I know you said Clondalkin but two places I have djed at in the city are very nice, the harbourmaster and Fallon and Byrnes. They both have seperate function rooms.
