ok lads, things have been very quiet on here the last few days so i reckon time for a bit of thinking about stuff,

how about your opinion on MMA ranking in ireland, who would you rate no, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at each or some weight category(ies). Bantam, Feather, Light, Welter, Middle, Light Heavy and Heavy, should be good to see peoples opinions..

people will also be kind of biased so you have to allow for that too :D:D

    Bantam

    1. Paul Cowzer
    2. Neil Seery
    3. Steve Mccombe
    4. Andreas Lovebrand(spelling???)
    5. Hussain

    Feather

    1. Mick Leonard
    2. Tim Murphy
    3. Owen Roddy
    4. Mickey Young
    5. Conor Mcgregor

thats a start, any other opinions??

Neil has had some very impressive performances over the last year so he should probably be #1 IMO. And just to be pedantic but Andreas doesn't live in Ireland anymore. He's be over next week to fight Neil in Tribal Warfare, that should be a great fight.

    Feather

    1. Mick Leonard
    2. Tim Murphy
    3. Owen Roddy
    4. Mickey Young
    5. Conor Mcgregor

It doesn't really make much sense to put Mick ahead of me as I beat him a few months ago, and I'd definitely rank Roddy at #1 at FW.
I would have Kevin McAlonoan (sp?) in there ahead of Mickey and Conor as well.

Good idea for a thread all the same. :)

well i wrote what came to my head at the time tim, dont take offence, its not as if there official rankings, but what i will say is if you fight somebody 10times you wont neccesarily beat him 10 times so therefore because you beat mick(which i seen and yes it was impressive) doesn't put you right to the top.

Colin Robinson has never fought at Light Heavy weigh so he needs to be moved up a weight category.

Keith Bradley holds the EFR LHW title and Tim McRory is fighting him (again) for it at the next show so he should probably be number one.

Whoa thanks for that! I forgot about Keith and Tim. I am revising my post now! Actually, forgot about Colin Laird too

I agree with Roddy being #1 at feather, Timmy is #2 for sure.

im more aware of these 2 weights and i also feel both could be turned on there head easily enough, in my opinion there 2 of the toughest weight divisions.

    Bantam
    1. Neil Seery, cant be argued as he's beat the best out there.
    2. Steve McCombe, he was considered the best till neil beat him.
    3. Paul Cowzer, jumped in at the top way too early :(,!
    4. Peter wilson, only new to BW but 1 too watch
    5. Husen Muhammed Yusuf, good fighter only seen him twice though. and lost 2 hard fights against neil and steve, nothing wrong with that.

Feather: this weight division is stacked and possibly the best ireland has, gary morris only stepped up a level recently and will fight mickey on the next efr, his chance to jump into the list. there is more ready to step up too, conor mcgregor could give all these a hard time.

    1. Tim Murphy earned by beating mick last time out.
    2. Owen Roddy swapped places with tim after his recent loss, will be back.
    3. Mick Leonard not that active over the last 2 years.
    4. Kevin McAlonan havent seen him fight in a while?
    5. Mickey Young same as above but on the comeback trail.
