My 1st attempt at a stream/running water picture. Composition mightn't be the best, as I was limited to time & I didn't have much room to manouver ! (I had to 'fight' with alot of branches/nettles/briars etc.).

I haven't edited these ones, but I did do a bit of fooling around with Olympus Master software on other pics, ie. I'm open to suggestions for improvement. (Note: I also have Picassa & Photoshop 5, ahem, stop giggling now !).

    Very nice shots morrisseeee.
Last pic is really mystical, looks like an untouched area hidden away in the woods...where were these taken?

Tried to get simular pictures myself with very little results.

But God loves a trier

    :)

Yeah Morrisee 3 is working well due to an interesting composition and layout of the image is plaeasing to the eye. The motion is working even better due to the fact that you can see the flow of the water down and then out in every direction.Nice one.

The water in the first one is interesting, seems quite calm but you captured the flow. The rest of the composition(foliage) isn't as interesting as what you've captured in 3.

IMO whats surrounding the subject is equally as important as the subject to create a good imge. Whatever way you can deal with its importance is the trick i guess

Nice shots. Number 3 is by far the best - 1 & 2 don't have any "white" water in them to draw the eye.

Did you try different exposure times? I'd normally start at 1/2 second and move up in 1/2 second increments. At 1/2 second it'll look less "dreamy" but the water will look more "glassy". Dreamy is good, glassy is good - both is better!

Three is really nice, the other two lack the look of three.

    Cheers again.
I took a few of the mini-waterfall, at different speeds & distances.
This was the first, at a fast speed, maybe 1/8th or 1/4th of a sec.
Also another pic of the stream.

Really like No. 3. with regards to the first two, i think they might have worked better if the stream had some "life" to it. for example some white water passing over rocks.
