Anyone planning to attend the Laytown races tomorrow or is it such a small event that it's overlooked?

now how come they can race when there's water on the track and Leopardstown couldn't :D

I thought they didn't let people on the beach anymore for insurance reasons. Obviously not the case from the picture.

I did break the bank and pay 15 euro in, but thanks to Nina in the last that was recouped many times over ;)

Everything seemed to run smoothly there but I wonder for the future of the meeting and the quality of the horses sent there as the 'stable' facilitates seem to be getting smaller and smaller each year. Still great set up and a credit to everyone who works hard from when the tide goes out to get it all up and running, can't be easy.

It would be sad to see it end. It's the last meeting (under rules) on the beach in Europe. At one time, many beaches held racing - in fact, that's where Tramore was held too.
