mac book pro backlight not working

    the backlight on my mac book pro has suddenly stopped working when i turn it on the mac screen lights up as normal but when the log in screen appears the backlight is no where to be found, just wondering where I can get this repaired and how much it might cost ? not sure if its under waranty as i bought it second hand off my sisters partner. any help is appreciated.

    hate to ask the obvious question but you do have the brightness turned up, yes?

    I ask this because you are getting an illuminated screen at boot then followed by darkness.

    :o that was it thanks i dont know why i didnt think of pressing the brightness button no idea how that happened thanks for that :o

    Sometimes we just overlook the obvious!;) but hey at least your Mac is ok, and thats the main thing!!!:)
