    Hi Guys,

I never played DOTA and I do be in the wcradio IRC channel were the lads occasionally have some games of it. Is there any guides to help people get into DOTA?

I've had WC3 for a long time and feel i might have missed out on some fun but not trying this.

Have a read of my first post in this thread. You can download a modified DoTA map so that you can play against the computer. Then I suppose pick a hero and read through some of the available guides.

I'm sure someone else will be along with better advice ;).

the dota wiki I suppose. Any of the dota faqs and such. dota allstars is good. They have a thread on it I think. Just a beginner myself, learn by playing is best.

not really for beginner ,i dont think there is much difference between old/new players if you get the things learn quick(practically most people take ages to do that of course :pac:) .

i suppose you can join some pub game ,know about the heroes and items, some dota mechanism like orb effect, orb walking ,deny/last hit etc, learn how to survive and use the right skills of the hero in game .

once you get used to all heroes you can play with more strategy like pick the hero to counter opponent hero, how to be a good farmer, how to make good items etc.read some guide that will help alot.

normally in pub,the theory is survive >kill ,farming >skill, make yourself comfort while playing it
    gl hf!:D
