Vodka-Martini, shaken not stirred. James Bond drinks it, therefore it must get special dispensation.

Basically, anything mainstream American should be banned. Microbrewery stuff is perfectly acceptable though.

I think corona falls under the "it's not a beer if you've to put fruit in it" category.

Good article - gotta disagree with the person who said Harp though - its rocket fuel plain and simple - it's a silent killer. My nominations for the list are Corrs Light (because it a pregnant womans drink) and Bud because it is pi$$ - also barcardi breezers are shyte and should never be drank by anyone other than a good looking female. Also any lads who drink bottles of lager instead of pints are an absolute disgrace. Even women drink pints and not bottles for gods sake. I mean ill never understand why someone will pay 4.50+ for a bottle of lager when they have the same lager on tap for 20 or 30 cents less. Them lads should not be classed as drinkers no matter what drink it is. the only time you should drink bottles is when you are driving. simple as that.
*only joking about the last bit

In fairness though, beer often tastes far better from bottles than from dirty taps or the dregs of a keg.

Plus, some pubs will often have a cheaper beer hooked up to something like Carlsberg and try to con you.

Edit: Typing in blue must surely be considered unmanly!

I drink bottles when I'm dancing, which I only do when I'm rat arsed.

By the time i drink bottles, I usually think I'm John ****ing Travolta:D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,385 ✭✭✭ThunderCat

fair enough i agree with the blue writing - it should have been a more manly shade of blue at the very least. i kinda do see the point about bottles in pubs when the pints are shyte but ive been drinking in old mans pubs the last while and all the pints have been fantastic so ive fogotten how dire things can be out there. the pints in some places are a disgrace to be fair. the pub in the college i went to springs to mind.

Being pedantic the thread is about banned BEERS from BGRH therefore discussions of cider, alcopops, cocktails
    >

I agree with most of the recommendations so far but a special place in hell must be reserved for Michelob Ultra and if anyone remembers it Kaliber. There is also an honourable mention required for worst beer in the world Murree beer from Pakistan.

being more pedantic the thread is actually "Banned drinks from BGRH". Therefore slagging off cider is, as always, perfectly acceptable.

Vile stuff altogther. It and Bud are good for controlling slugs and snails though. Just put some in a shallow container and they flock to it, dying in a drunken haze.

Nah. Lots of pubs can't pull a decent pint. Ye get this manky frothy sh|te instead. Thus, it's either a pint of water, an alcopop or a bottle of beer.

As for women drinking from a bottle, should be banned - nothing worse than some hot chick sucking off a bottle in a nightclub. The teasing ho :D:P

B&Q sell containers for killing slugs. It says on the side: pour beer in. Seemingly, the slugs and snails love the smell of beer, drink it, and die. Die happy, I'd say :D

    =-=

Meh. I know some who think the ole Dutch is the best:eek: Each to their own, I say. Koppaberg and Southern Comfort for me.

White wine is allowed if you're already rat arsed and you're stumbling around drinking it straight from a bottle that you've back washed so no one else can have any.

And there's absolutely no other drink whatsoever to be gotten anywhere else.
