    Hi all

my car got hit while parked in my garage (apartment complex). found the culprit (another car same complex - police had to join in before they fessed up - even though their car was banged and a piece of their headlight beside mine).

anyway, my bumper is cracked (fibre glass broken) and the middle rubber/plastici n the bumper has moved.

anybody knows who could do a good job in the dublin city centre vicinity, nearer to james hospital?

or any that are open on saturdays i can pop into to have an estimate for the other person/insurance?

    its a bmw 316i 99 coupe.

    Cheers

i'd bring it to E.P. Mooney on the long mile road if i were you. i used to work in the motor trade and they're the only crowd i'd ever deal with given the choice.

Ace Autobody are very good, but not cheap. That's where i'd be bringing my car if I wanted the best possible job and/or I wasn't paying.

AC Car Sales have also done some crash repair stuff, I've seen one of the jobs they did and you would never be able to tell it was damaged in the first place. They are on the South Circular, and open Saturdays. I got replacement mirrors for my last car off them, and the paint match was absolutely spot on.

Is that what Exclusive Autobody in Bray are now known as, or a different crowd? If it's the same crowd, then I would also recommend them.

I'm always getting the two mixed up myself. I recommended Ace Autobody because the general manager, Robin Sutton, has done work on our family cars for years - his standards are always very high. I think he set up or worked with Exclusive Autobody in Bray before moving to Ace.

OK, because I think in another thread someone said that Exclusive aren't there anymore, and it now appears to be called Ace. I will have a gander over the weekend, as I need a little touch up done.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for bumping up such an old topic but I noticed ACE Autobody in that thread and my question I would love to get answered to is linked directly to that crash repair specialist service.

Basically, end of July this year I wrecked front of my car a bit, my fault. Since I am fully insured with AXA they dragged my car to Ace Autobody in Fairview.

They did the job quick ok, but not exactly perfect (paintwork is not finished on the left front wing, bonnet does not sit perfectly on the same level as the wings edges, fog lights were not working and few more... ) and they took almost 4 k from my insurance policy for this. Fine, I seriously had no time to make complaints and lose my car for guarantee repairs, I needed it for work.

Anyway, today I failed my NCT test... because headlamps were not adjusted properly (I especially asked ACE for that after they replaced both headlights - having my not so far away NCT test in mind…) That was a bit too much for me.

Now, I'm not very familiar with consumer rights in Ireland - is it possible to make an official complaint to the ''specialists'' and ask for a refund of re-testing fees also for proper headlights alignment?
I have my NCT report with me of course, also some sort of guarantee given by ACE.

    Thanks in advance.
