You know the quickest way of integrating yourself to a forum and not look like a tool is to post some good content, not just try act cool and post stuff like this.

Does anyone know what the situation is with 60 minutes doing a show on it?

Sorry for the sarcasm it was uncalled for.

Almost every serious poker player on earth knows this story. It's part of the zeitgeist of internet poker. The "superuser" has entered the vocabulary of the regular internet player and carries all the connotations of the scandal that followed that story.

Hence some people's disregard for your post. Sorry that I was amongst them.

Yeah it's well documented, it was actually first uncovered on a Poker forum like this one called 2+2, internet players are able to find patterns in people's play that keep things like this from happening or uncovering it if they do.

That site and another site owned by the same people called Ultimate Bet are very dodgy and not many people play on them anymore. Certainly no-one that knows about on-line Poker, as with every industry there are always going to be rogue companies doing bad stuff...

Isn't it interesting that Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke still associate themselves with UB. You would think that 2 well known pros would be inclined to distance themselves from the sort of activity that this company seems to allow to happen.

    Just a thought.

Yeah, it's very strange, the power of the almighty $$ I suppose.

so for those of us less informed-how did the story end?!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

IIRC Ultimate Bet refunded a few million to cheated players, and so did Absolute Poker, but there are still huge question marks hanging over both sites, (e.g. the cheats haven't been named or prosecuted, there's a chance it was an inside job and the Auditing standards are very iffy on the sites) the investigation is still on-going really, TBH I haven't been following the latest developments in the last month or 2, but nothing massive has appeared on my radar lately.

It's not just a slight chance. There is about 99.9% chance that it was a big inside job

Well I wouldn't put it quite that high, but I didn't want to scare the villagers... :p

EDIT: Also, oi!! I never said "a slight chance", I said "a chance"!! :D

It's not that strange that some well known poker players are utter scum, a lot less surprising than say priests or archbishops.
