I had my memory stick plugged into my laptop and I somehow managed to lose (maybe even delete) a folder of stuff that I really wanted to keep. Is there any way of recovering it? I have looked in all the other folders etc but its def not on the memory stick anymore.....I'm gutted that I could be sooooo ****ing stupid.

Whatever you do, don't write to the stick.

Download some file recovery software, there are free ones available, maybe try something like freeundelete to begin with:

My personal recommendation would be File Scavenger, but you have to pay for it. It recovered everything important from a hard drive at work, that no other software could see into, and that the computer technical staff had written off.

I wouldn't chance doing it myself. Does anyone know someone reliable that could do it for me???

    www.recuva.com

Its freeware, make sure to not write to the usb stick at all, so for recovery, you should save the files onto your pc, if recuva can recover them

I hope this doesn't sound insulting, but have you looked in the Recycle Bin on your laptop? I found a file I deleted accidentally from a pen drive there once :o Is there any chance you could have moved it into another folder on your laptop?
