I recently joined a martial arts class in Artane, Sun Kune Do, and so far there isn't much of it in Ireland, only a few clubs. I really found it excellent, it is extremely practical self defence, strikes, wrist locks, leg locks, baton and knife defences, and escapes combined with the usual sparring and training.

Everyone there is very friendly and approachable and i really would recommend it to anyone who would like to join a self defence class, but might be nervous about karate or tae kwon do, there is a website,

www.sunkunedo.com and i think its very impressive, not being the sportiest person i still really enjoyed myself!

Not to doubt that you really enjoyed the classes and found them beneficial I just wondering what is it your basing your opinion on that makes you think this type of training is extremely practical self-defence?

I looked at the website, at the videos, and the descriptions and it doesn't inspire me with confidence. I'd be interested in hearing from yourself, or from your instructor about how you train and make it practical to self-defence.
