So my mates call it robbery...
    I call it an investment : D

After a couple of months out of the weights room and slowly getting less and less fit i've decided to hit the gym all or nothing. Been going strong for the past month both in the kitchen and the weights room and can already see noticeable gains which is good.... but i'm a man of figures so I'm trying to track my progress best I can - I’m trying to keep note of everything from general weight to water retention.

Now up until now the best I cold get an accurate weight measurement was in my birthday suit on the scales in the gym (which I do when its quite btw ) but this scales altho digital dosnt give stats such as bmi or mass percentages – just weight and height.

So can ya imagine my eyes when I opened the Argos and seen this!

So yes its a little pricy at 90euro but look what you get!

Cool design with black glass and Stainless Steel contacts.
Digital Display with multiple user memory.
Connects to your PC to log progress using tracking software.
    Measures...
    Body fat.
    BMR.
    Muscle mass.
    BMI.
    Body water.
    Visceral fat.

So what you guys reckon have I just wasted close to 100euro or would you buy one?

Accu Measure Calipers, and an accurate scale are all you need.

Disregard BMI, unless you consider yourself extremely average, All you need to know is weight and bodyfat%. The rest are just gimmicks.

But that's just my cycical opinion, if you feel like it justified the price, and you'll get good use out of it then yeah, it was worth it. But i wouldn't do it. I don't have 90 quid to be spending on a scales when there's ostrich and bison on sale

Can that scales wipe my ass and make breakfast too while it's at all the other functions?

    Waste of money imo.

I'd go with Wood; weight, calipers and mirror to track your progress.

Salter are a good brand, but no matter what the brand the technology is poor.

Half that price in argos will get you a decent salter scale with out the fancy extras (which do not work, just search about how poor they are). Now get a slimguide caliper or accu measure on on ebay for €10-30and a tailor tape for €2.

Oh argos also sell the best tracking devices of all, the technology will astound you, huge selection too :)http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?prodPage=10&sort_field=Lowest+price&storeId=30001&catalogId=1500001201&langId=-1&freeText=MIRROR&categoryName=category_root&subCategoryName=Home+and+furniture&category=10390321&info_catcount=74&catcrumb=1%7Ecategory_root%7EHome+and+furniture%7E10390321%7EMIRROR%7E74%7E&info_browse_level=1&canned_results_trigger=%2528free_text%253D%253D%2528%2BMIRROR%2529%2529%2528mode%253Dpage%253D%2528%2BSEARCH_x2B_NAV%2529%2529%2528cfg%253Dgrouped_display%253D%2528%2B_x31_%2529%2529%2528cfg%253Danswers_per_page%253D%2528%2B_x31_0%2529%2529&x=10&y=12

Nope, aint misused the expression, normally weigh myself in just a towel straight after I use the showers.

i got one of those puppies a few months ago.

while I take most of the measurements with a pinch of salt I do find the weight tracking and export via usb to be invaluable for tracking weight loss.

God Bless the argos 16 Day Money Back Guarentee!

This is heading back First thing tomorrow...
It has to be one of the most inaccurate devices i've ever used.
Hell even my general weight changed massively twice lastnight within minutes.

    It has two major flaws...

    - Fitness Level
For some reason this helps it calculate most of your stats.
Level one tells me i'm 12% bodyfat
Level two tells me i'm 10% bodyfat
Level three tells me i'm 8% bodyfat

Using Accu calipers i'm 14.7%, so nowhere need the scales suggestion.

    - Moist Feet
Wont work if your feet are dry, or "rough" according to the sticker.

Back to argos tomorrow to buy a standard digital scales.
Tape and Calipers will do me grand from now on!

Well then you have misused the expression. Birthday suit implies being naked which your obviously not if you have a towel on.
