Can i ask what a rescue post is?

is it just an office for the team is is it a place where hikers can call in and have a look at stuff/leaflets?

It's an operational resource for the team. We've always operated out of the back of a transit (literally), so it's a huge step forward for the way we run our business.

We'll eventually build a full communications hub there to encompass a developmental GPS radio system we're using at the moment, storage of equipment, drying room (a big thing for us - Saves having a bath full of wet team gear to dry late at night after a callout) and reserve equipment for bigger jobs/extended searches and the like. Incidentally, we're very interested in obtaining a 'silent' type 2-3KV generator.... All donations gratefully received :-)

There's an interesting article over on the Bray People website too which sort of explains all... http://www.braypeople.ie/news/mountain-rescue-team-gets-new-headquarters-1471870.html

Congratulations to DWMRT and team leader Mark Flynn on the further development of the Mountain Rescue service. I know Mark from my days involved in Scouting.

Well done keep up the good work.
    :)

Congratulations on the new rescue post. Hopefully it is the beginning of a new path of better resources to ye.

By the way I'm only available in the last 2 weeks of October to officially open the new post. :D:D
