we are heading to paris for a weekend away and would like to know if anybody could recommend a nice hotel to stay in. we are recently married and would like a nice hotel that is clean, well located and not expensive.
if anyone has any recommendaton we would be grateful.

and come to think of it what are the thing we "must see" while there?

    regards

Try searching through the many, many threads asking for pretty much the same thing as this question pops up every 2 weeks or so. :)

And you'll probably get the same answer :)

A lot of posters here are generous people who give up their time to help others. Unfortunatly when the same question is asked every 2 weeks then people are less likely to reply to new posts on the same topic.

But should you say "Hello! I'm looking for help on Paris....I've already searched through the old threads..." then there's a much better chance of getting direct replies to your questions :)

I'm sorry for the back-seat-modding but general questions like "What do I do in Paris"? tend to not get a lot of replies due to the frequency of the question and I'd hate to think that you were being ignored in here :)

Hi - we stayed in a hotel called Jardin d'Eiffel on the Rue Amelie last year and found it spotless but small (but I understand most of the centrally located hotels in Paris are). Location was pefect for us and we walked from there all over the city taking in the usual sights, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame etc on foot. You can also take a day trip out to Versaille which they'll organise for you at reception but that takes a full day I believe and we didn't have that time. Hope this helps ;)

thanks for your reply and your recommendation.
i saw that one on line and it looks like what we are looking for alright.
there are just so many hotels in paris that it is improosible to pick one without getting a recommendation from someone.

    ;)

I think part of the problem with lack of replies is that fact that you have just asked for a "nice hotel". I can suggest one but it's about €750 a night for 2 :)

So...let me know what budget you have for a hotel, if you like going out late, having a few drinks and clubbing, what you're looking for from the holiday and I can suggest what area of the city you stay in. After that it's easier to choose a hotel. :)

I would reccommend the 5th or 6th district, otherwise know as the 'left bank'. Accommodation will be pricey but it is within walking distance to most of the areas you will want to see.

What type of budget do you have per night?
