Well lads, forget galway, the real irish racing festival gets underway next Sunday. Or will it?

A lot of rumours going around that they are planning to axe the first couple of days in the hope of saving the ground for the big races later in the week. With more rain predicted this week it's looking very doubtful they'll get all 7 days run, which would be a pity as it's always a great festival.

Yeah, I was thinking about that this morning with all the rain. I wouldn't think they could race at all unless there is a good few dry days coming up.
It would be a pity to see it go.

They have river the nearby which usually helps with the drainage but the volume of rain thats fallen and is due to fall it's looking very dodgy. They will at least try to get the Kerry National run off on the Wednesday and the big hurle races, but a full 7 days are looking very very slim.

Artiste Bay looks like a contender for the Kerry National if he gets in, ran nicely last night in heavy conditions.

    Listowel Sunday & Monday abandoned

The Listowel Festival has been hit by the recent heavy rain and has now lost Sunday and Monday's cards.

The Festival is due to run for seven days starting on Sunday, but has now been reduced to five days after Sunday and Monday cards were abandoned.

The meeting will now consist of jumps action only and begin on Tuesday.

Still no sign of the revised programme for Listowel. Considering the deadline for entries for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is 12 tomorrow they would want to get it out at some stage this evening. Anybody heard anything on it?

Well, what are people fancying today? Haven't had much of a look yet as I have a mountain of work to get done today so I can take the rest of the week off to head down!

I feel Perfect Reward in the 14:55 is a good price at 6/1 so I've had a few quid on him.

Bang on form in Div1 of the bumper is being rightly fancied by connections and the money has started to come in for him. I'm on e/w at 10/1.

Disappointing, Perfect reward came 2nd and Bangonform came 4th with only a couple of lenghts covering the first 4 :(

Great atmosphere and buzz aabout the place yesterday. Punting wise it didn't go great. It's rare enough I back a winner at 11/1 and still come out down. It really is a great festival though and ready to do battle again today. Going to study the card for the next hour and post up a few fancies before I head off.
