I would like to hear some recommendations for products to address this. Its never been a serious problem but I'd like to get rid all the same. Recently switched to dianette, but would also like to invest in some good skincare products.

I've heard Dr. Hauschka stuff is good, and my sister swears by some Estee Lauder products. Anything else out there?

Not interested in the panoxyl/clearasil approach.

make sure any moisturiser you use says 'wont clog pores' or 'non-comedogenic'
avoid anything with mineral oils as these can irritate/clog
    this makes a huge difference.

doctor haushka is a great brand but I wouldnt recommend using it while you are trying to clear up existing spots as the products use a lot of natural oils

I love the <snip> range. It has a cleanser, toner and lotion and I saw results within days...plus you are not paying obscene amount of money for a product as good or better than the €40 a bottle stuff.

    Any other suggestions?

Has anyone heard of trilogy skincare products? www.trilogyproducts.com

I'm thinking of just booking a dermalogica facial and going with their stuff.

I got a face mapping from a salon that deals only with Dermalogica and I found it great. My skin has really improved and I have finally managed to rid myself of the weird dry patches I used to have in certain areas! They divide your face into sections and looking at each section decide which products would suit you. I use the Precleanse and then the Dermal Clay (for spot prone skin), then the MultiActive toner and lastly Active Moist which is oil free so doesn't cause spots but leaves my skin really soft and smooth. I have recently come off the pill so my skin is getting a bit worse but I am going to move onto Derm's new range now which I have sampled and it's specifically for adult mild acne- the AntiBac range I think. Derm is expensive but worth it I think!

The girl that does my facials also recommended to me that I rub on an exfoliater half way through my shower once my pores have opened, leave it on for ten mins, then scrub hard and rinse, It does wonders for blackheads/oil/new spots etc and gives you a nice glow!! The one I use is Benefit Honey Snap Out of it! and it's FAB!! :)

Thank you. I think I will get that dermalogica facial.

Where is ketsugo available? That spray thing looks useful.

Well I went into nue bleu eriu on Saturday and got some institut esthederm skincare products. I'm very happy with them so far, although its very early days yet. My skin seems to be improving already.

not sure how "adult" you're talking, I'm 20 and still can get quite bad spots at times, like every so often I'll get one or two icky ones, started using near the full range of Witch products and finding them great after only a couple of days, the foam wash at night, cleansing scrub every second day, clear pore gel before bed and "witch stick" when needed, my aunt is in her 40's and still gets breakouts, she uses these products and teatree products, finds them all great...

Neostrata stuff is pretty good but has high precentage levels of the ingredients so you have to make sure you wear spf, you can get them in chemists. I use their foaming cleaser and renewal cream.

dr haushcka is good, they do a little box of samples for oily and dry skin. dont go splashing out on dermalogica unless u try some samples. i spent loads and it wrecked my skin. go see rachel in sanctum in temple bar, she does great facials for anyone with problem skin, cleared mine up nicely!

I have ultra sensitive skin and cannot use most things. However since switching to E45 face wash my skin has improved significantly. It doesn't overdry the skin and it is cheap. I think I paid about 4 or 6 euro in the supermarket.
