Edit: This event is full, sold out, at capacity, no more room, chockablock etc etc. No more seats. Comprende?

Ok, because we are just short of the 500 player registrations mark I want to start up a new thread. We expect the event to fill up fairly quickly from here on in so we really, really, really want you all to get yourselves registered as soon as possible (if you are one of the few that have not already registered :) ).

    To cut to the chase;

The BoylePoker.com International Poker Open 2008 takes place in the Regency Airport Hotel, Swords Road, Dublin 9. Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October 2008.

You can choose which day you would like to start. That is to say that Day 1 is divided over two days, Friday 17th Oct is Day 1A (4pm start) and Saturday 18th Oct Day 1B (2pm start). On Sunday 19th Oct (Day 2) just under 200 players will battle it out until a winner is declared.

If you do not have a credit card, laser card or any other card do not worry. Although the only way to register for this tournament is through BoylePoker.com you can deposit and withdraw cash to and from your poker account through any BoyleSports betting office.

This year players are going to experience the very best in terms of customer service and professional staff (both online and live) for an even smaller registration fee with lots and lots and lots of added value courtesy of BoylePoker.com

Regular online satellites will be running on BoylePoker.com as well as free-rolls and all sorts of other fantastic value added tournaments (just check out the online poker forum here or BoylePoker.com/ipo).....

Once you register the amount of money generated by you through general online play on BoylePoker.com over the next 40 days is going to have a direct effect on the amount of prize-money added in October. There is already over €25,000 added.

Again I will just say that we really want to fill this event before 1st Oct. It will mean there is far more added money and it will also give us much more time to organise our staff and to ensure that everything runs like clockwork over the weekend.

If you register now you will help us to concentrate on the important part of this event (the IPO itself) and I won't be spending so much time worrying about whether or not we reach our target of 1,200 players :).

    Many thanks,
    Stephen Mc Lean.

I won the satellite online last night but I got no notification of my ticket etc. What do I do to get something tangible to show I have a ticket?

    Congrats.

You should see your username in the tournament lobby under Day 1A (you can move your start day if you like, just email care@boylepoker.com). If you click on "My tournaments you should also see it highlighted there"....

If you need any more info just let me know. I will ask one of the BoylePoker crew to come on and give you a detailed answer.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

Strictly over 18's I'm afraid. To open a BoylePoker account and to play live poker in Ireland.

    Stephen.

Thanks for the congrats. Wouldn't have even known about the tournament if it wasn't for your effective promotions!

I checked that out and it's all in order but how do I prove on the day I am who I say I am?

    Thanks

Bring ID, shouldnt be needed but if someone else takes your seat claiming to be you Boyles can check it up.

Ok sounds good, but how do I prove I am my poker username? Would they be able to cross reference my username to my real name?

Your username won't be mentioned on the day (a lot of people don't like anyone to know the name they play under online).....
You will see your Christian name on a big screen with your seat number beside it (this means you won't have to queue)....
Once you take your seat the dealer will just double check you are who you are supposed to be, if another player has made a mistake and has taken your seat then just call a floor person (its fairly rare that this happens and only takes a minute to sort out).

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

    ____________

Up to date prize-pool; €87,551.20 and 488 players paid in full with a lot of overseas players still to go on the system.

What do you think Jack, will we sell out all 1,200 seat for this tournament before 1st Oct?

It might have been kind of fun if you had to use your screenname on the day. I chose mine 'BigGayHomo', thinking it would be unavailable. Kinda stuck with it now.

How will myself, Cooker, and the countless other Roberts, not to mention Johns etc know which is for who? Also, I'm a member of an obscure minority church and am offended by the term 'christian name'. Please change it :D (j/k obv)

How do you think I feel with the name Stephen... ... Every class I was ever in had at least three of us so I hear ya :)

Sorry if I caused distress by making the numbers go backwards by 1 for the second time :P

    (thinly disguised brag post)

Freerolled in last week (+$500 for the hotel) but de-registered so the token could be transferred to wifey.

Bought in for myself straight after but de-registered earlier so my 2nd freeroll win can (hopefully) be moved from 1A to 1B tomorrow.

At the risk of stating the obvious, there is brilliant value in these freerolls. A serious amount of credit has to go to Boyles both for the value they're adding and how helpful they are.

How come in the side events #2 and #3 you get 2k starting on one day and 3k on another. On a quick glance they both look like the same tourney.

On the Friday and Sat we are under a bit of time pressure. On the Sunday we are fairly ok and you know us, we always want to give as much play as is reasonably possible. :)

Come on people now, get together and register on BoylePoker.com :pac:

Free Parking at the Regency for all players between 17th and 19th Oct (at rear of hotel)
Side event registration will only open on 17th October, we don't expect any of the events to fill up as we can handle lots and lots of players, it will however be run on a first paid, first registered basis

    Thats been bashed out on here before.....When you think about it, its like this;
BoylePoker are on a network that only deals in US$
As well as adding over €25k so far (that figure is going up all the time) topping up every player will cost them over €15k
For a €15 registration fee you are going to receive a service which is usually reserved for the WSOP, Irish Open or EPT where players pay hundreds in registration fees....This could not happen without BoylePoker.com
If you didn't have to register online you would not have to pay the €166.60 and then get the difference refunded but it would leave the organisers (PokerIreland.ie) with an extremely chaotic few days trying to get everyone registered. You would no doubt have to queue for hours.....This way once you register on BoylePoker thats it, no queues, you can just enjoy the game

Hope this helps explain the situation.

    547 players registered.

Keep them going please players.....I really don't want to miss out on this one....I've committed myself to getting 1,200 players registered before 1st Oct.

    Stephen.

(Of the 547 players registered about 400 are from overseas.....I really need Irish players to get behind this now in a much bigger way and register as soon as possible :) )

    Stephen, (probably for future ref)
Instead of Boyles adding money to the event they should really offer the equivalant freeroll tournaments into the event. That way you get people registered on Boyles to play and Boyles can push the event on thier site. If the primary purpose is to get people onto Boyles they are not being very creative to get people onto their sites.
Let's say for the sake of an extra 5K . Boyles could have daily freerolls between now and the event. Once people are regst on Boyles, they achieved part of their marketing goal.
In relation to your under/over bet I don't know why you took that up, unless of course you like the stress.
I'll try reg this weekend, I reactivated an ancient Boyles account
    Good luck with the mayhem.
    Willie

I have added the funds back to your account .

In relation to your concerns over currency I can say that we were unable to set the pre-registration tournaments to accept euro as the registration currency, as the iPoker (Our Network Providers) software could only facilitate the use of USD (U.S. Dollars). As the price for entry had to be set as USD, this led to the issue which you have mentioned, currency fluctuations. As the US dollar changed in value since we created the tournament it led to the price increase, please be assured that we return the difference of the exchange rate to the player registering and make no profit whatsoever from the exchange rate. We are adding 20% of all pre-registered player rake to the prize pool, and have also added €20,000 to the prize pool of the tournament as good will gesture of our intent to run a value added tournament.

If anyone else has any issues with exchange rates PM me and it will get sorted ASAP.

    See you at the IPO

    Ciaran
