NRG-Blast before a rugby match?

I have a rugby match tomorrow night and since its pre season I'm willing to try out new things. Would taking a dose of NRG Blast before a match be advisable?

I'm in two minds about it, it could turn me into a completely focused tackling machine or (due to the amount of caffeine content) a breathless dehydrated chump.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of taking it two hours before kick off.

    There's caffeine in NRG-Blast?

Yeh Lemon flavour caffeine it says on the packaging. It also has Taurine AKG.

I doubt the caffeine is lemon flavoured! Probably a typo. But if it didn't have caffeine it wouldn't be much use as a pre trainer.
As with all caffeine products you do need to increase water, and remember it will have creatine in there too - so there's more water needed.
As for turning you into a crazed back breaker, it's not crystal meth so you're grand ;)

The Lemon flavour bit is relevant to lemon flavoured NRG blast, not the caffeine, they're missing a comma ;)

I'm not sure with this product, but most pre-trainers of this kind require an empty stomach for the effects to kick in and take it about 45 mins before hand.

ALWAYS sample it first before you train, use a day where your just out and about or going the gym, some pre-trainers can make you sick if you're not used to them.

Oh I have! Used it before weight traaining before and it was fine.

Normaly before a match I feel like getting sick (with nerves) anyway so nothing new there!

    Thanks

I started using using Nitrobolon energizer lately, a polish guy recommended it. Crazy stuff. I have so much more energy while training with this stuff. I never want to train without it again!

I have also been experimenting with pre match meals / supplements.

I took Xplode 11 recently before a big match but found that it upset my stomach a fair bit and gave me a severely dry mouth. Didn't feel any more energetic to be honest.

Also tried eating at least 3.5 hours before match, with just some small glasses of fruit juice every hour before the match, with a strong cup of coffee 40 mins before match. Felt full of energy, very focussed and not dehydrated.

I would say that everybody is different and you have to try things to find out what suits your own system.

I'm with you on the caffeine effect. There is nothing like the buzz caffeine can give you for training if you use it right. Combine it with L-tyrosine and can do wonders.

I've been hearing great things about Olimp 'Massacra' lately, anybody tried it?

Wish I read this yesterday. I had the same effects from trying out NRG Blast, it gave me focus to start with but then a sever dry mouth and no increased energy.

I might invest in caffeine tablets or something, cant imagine bringing in a cup of coffee into the dressing room before a match!

Well according to Paul White carbs are the shizzz!!! :pac::D

What were YOU doing in the food hall??? ;)

I'm a complete disaster for noticing things when I'm in town by the way, Malteaser will attest to that. You'd literally have to come up and slap me on the back of my head and THEN wave for me to see things at time....

Oh and random food hall related topic; know the guy who does security in there by any chance? Abotu 5'8, hyoooge guns?? Word around Hercs is he's doing the NABBA's on Sunday week. I haven't seen him to ask him myself but I'm really hoping he does.

1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda mixed with big glass of water
    some taurine, piece of fruit

never heard of using baking soda before but will report progress

I tried the xplode one high before kickboxing and didn't get to sleep until 5am, wired to say the least. Most nights it takes me a while to unwind after a sparring sessions but that was crazy.

Paul White was in TF last week.Didnt mention his bad diet or anything:D
Those two latvian monsters have been in TF a LOT the last while, they're probably competing too.The smaller one was doing countless sets of 150 kilo bench last night, ten reps a pop.

Yeh I've been chatting to him, that guy looks in great shape, nice fella too. Every week I go in you can see the effect of his cutting, he's leaning up nicely to say the least.

As for slapping you in the back of the head, I'll remember that the next time :p

Yeah, Frank's his name. He's a seriously nice guy. His upper body is gonna blow everyone away. Someone said to me he was only 21/22. Couldn't believe it when I heard that. Strong enough bloke too... he was doing farmers walks with 90kg per hand at last years hercs strong man comp and pulled a big skip truck (he was actually the only one to do it too!!). Keep your eye out for big Chirsty Murphy too in the novice's if you're going.

As for the slapping... in fairness if I did react badly you'd probably have kicked me in the head and laid me out before I could do anything.
