I went to Hersonisos last year and have to say there is very little to do there. There is a beach (can't remember the name) where there is water sports etc. but it is very overrated. I went on a couple of day trips but they were not worth recommending.
The night life is good - some good pubs that are opened until the early hours. One thing is though and it maybe was because I went there the wrong time of year but the pubs were full of underage drinkers from Ireland.

my advice would be to never, ever go to hersonissos unless you're 17 or 18. the locals are horrible and it's pretty much just a post leaving celebration destination.
