I want a CLASSY looking pair of over the knee boots to wear over skinny jeans and with a green velvet blazer as a nod to the 'folk' look.

    Haven't had any joy yet.

Actually haven't seen a nice blazer either but Zara are usually good for that kind of thing.

When you say over the knee do you mean flat, stiletto or platform?

the only place in Dublin i could find a nice pair of knee highs last year was in Sasha.

Failing that try eBay, alot of them are a bit hookery but you might find what your looking for :)

Preferably with a stiletto heel but not as Dallas says hookery.

i think flat ones might look a bit 'puss in boots'

    It's a fine line. :(

Hmnn the best place really is eBay but have a look in Simon Hart on Henry Street and in the Ilac Centre as well as Korky's on Henry/Grafton Street. They do them there from time to time.

I saw a girl wearing a lovely flat pair at the busstop today, was tempted to ask her where she got them.

    Well OP,

Has the advice here been of any use to you?

Can't help with the boots but try H&M for the Blazer, I was able to get a lovely green cord one there at the start of the year and it's wearing really well.

Oasis has been great for blazers this year too but more americana than folksy in style I'd say.

Not necessarily. It really does depend what you wear with them. If you're wearing a miniskirt then yes but there are plenty of Italian types I've seen who wear them with jeans and they look great.

didn't some guy on here post an image of boots like that recently? He surprised his girlfriend with them or something. It's like he has a hooker fetish or something. Leather corsets and all.

Check out www.duoboots.com. they have some classic over the knee boots, not thigh high mind, but the classier sort. They have excellent customer service and deliver to Ireland, they are expensive tho, but worth it. have three pairs and they are all like slippers.
They primarily make boots for wider calfs, but they can be bought in any size calf, made to measure.

Karen Millen have an absolutely fabulous pair... they're around 350 euro but an investment in my opnion. Theyre beige suede and absolutely gorgeous... no "hookery" in them at all!!! Actually here they are -
