Just saw this ad a second ago. Its completely bonkers but hard to look away from for some reason and certainly hard to forget..............So as ads go.........SUCCESS :D

Is it just me or is the new ad the same video as the Phil Collins one, just slowed down at parts and maybe a different camera angle once in a while? Meh, worked better as the first one out I think. More memorable in my opinion...

    🤪

Yeah, it's the same ad. I still think it's a crappy ad for chocolate, though.

I saw these on the TV the other night. Put some decent music in an ad and people will watch it.

Airport ad with Queen rules imo

They showed the two (gorilla and airport) back to back on RTE today before the senior hurling final.

yep, they have slowed down the drumming to make it match the new song. original was much better.

Although this version wasn't bad either (mildy NSFW)

Yeah, the Phil Collins one was better.

The one difference in this ad is that you can see a white ear piece in the "gorilla's" left ear at the beginning of the ad.

its the same ad as before with just different music, atleast they could put some work into it
    ****e advert

When I saw the ad I copped that it was a follow-up for the Phil Collins one but, for the life of me, I did not know what that ad had been for. It could have been for Toilet Duck for all I could recall !

A memorable ad, but, in terms of increasing brand awareness, rubbish.

Everyone (except you?) knows them as the 'Cadbury Ads'.
They are amazing in terms of increasing brand awareness. They are talked about so much it's feckin mad given the concept.
However, I can't f&*king stand them and they wouldn't make me touch a bar of the stuff.

How many more tunes will they put to the same video footage I wonder??

Since the general consensus is "80s! LOLOLOLOL!!!", I'd say about a decade's worth of half-remembered tunes of fake irony.

Hall and Oates are waiting for the timely pension fund boost.

It's a pity they've all but made a carbon copy of the original ad with the Phil Collins tune. That was genius. This is just meh. They mustn't have been able to come up with another great idea.

They probably should have done something more original. But I don't care because "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" RAWKS!!! :D:D

it looks like different footage to me - the movments match the music very well in both cases, and the guy in the suit is obviously a drummer. His movements look very realistic..

maybe somebody who is a little bit board will compare the two!!

I'd love to know how sales of Dairy Milk are actually going on the back of the campaign.

It sure is increasing brand awareness, but the campaign isn't really attaching anything to the product - not saying it's nice, cool, refreshing, healthy etc...
When it comes to the consumer at the til, i find it hard remembering a gorilla playing drums will give them the desire to pick out dairy milk over a competitor.

Well it's slowed down and edited slightly differently, but I'd say it's still the original footage.

I think this one could be focused on awareness more than anything...There is also the purple background to tie in with the Dairy Milk brand. Apparently it's a viral marketing campaign - designed to be catchy so that people either talk about it or show others (YouTube) or e-mail it to people - keeps costs low, gets people talking and raises awareness...

    🤪
