cheapest iPod Mini battery replacement

My girlfriend's iPod Mini battery kicked the bucket a while back (I think it may have been one of the bad batch but too late for that anyway) and I'm looking to see if it's worth replacing.

Apple charge €100, at which price I'd rather just buy a Nano, and I've found suggestions for this crowd but the shipping seems to add about €30 to the otherwise low price.

So does anyone know of a UK or Ireland-based shop (online or physical) that still stocks replacement batteries for the Mini and doesn't charge too much for them? I'm hoping I can find somewhere that sells the battery for a similar price to above but with a more reasonable shipping cost.

Naturally I'm happy to do the replacing myself so won't be looking for it to be sent off to Apple or a third party repair shop.

    Thanks.

Maplin do, they sell battery replacement kits for every ipod, mini included...since you're opening it up maybe you should replace the hard drive with a CF card too?

Thanks for that - will check to see if it can be ordered into the Irish stores as online deliver adds a bit to the product's price but even if they can't it's still the best I've seen (and likely to be the quickest route to getting it to me too).

As for the CF card, not sure if it's worth my while. I know the flash card should be a bit more responsive than the HDD and it would give me the option of making the disc bigger but I don't want to spend too much money doing the thing up - it is 3 years old and once I pass a certain cost I'd be inclined to just buy a new PMP instead.

Well i've actually seen the products in-store, so hopefully the nearest one to you stocks it.

Let us know how it goes!

    Ipod mini Battery Replacement

Great website. Delivery takes about 10 working days AT MOST and this battery definitly works. I've purchased 2 of these and successfully upgraded 2 ipod minis.

    Hope it helps

Waaaay cheaper than Maplin by the way.
