Well i posted earlier about not being pleased with my current RG 320 FM and had thoughts about selling it. Iv stumbled across this FX260 and for 400 quid i think its a bargain. If i go one step higher it's the FX400 which has better EMG's and some slight hardware changes

Has anyone any experience with this guitar? If you do please post as id like to find out more about it before settling on it

I was looking at that guitar myself. But Im weary about anything ltd under the 400 series due to their quality. Normally not good.

I wonder is their anywhere in ireland to play one..

Yeah was thinking that too so now i may be looking at the fx400. Just want to know though does anyone here use a guitar with EMG's with any of the pod lines? I know that EMG's are designed for valve amps and i dont want to spend 600 quid on a guitar that ll sound like muck with a podx3

Instrumental on the Quays are the ESP distributors here so might be a good idea to see if you can try one out there.

Do you know if they have a email address? Just looking on their website and it seems they take second hand guitars aswell so i may be able to sell them my RG plus a Boss Metal Zone to cut a chunk out of the price tag.

Yeah my friend explained this to me yesterday saying that they preform best on Valve amps and not tube amps. But again this is what he knows from reading or something he hasnt actually played with EMG's with a non valve amp and said that the only thing is id probably have to turn down the gain a bit.

Doh :o Well anyway i know he said it will sound completely different on Pod then a Valve amp

From the horses mouth "EMGs are active humbuckers which means they're powered by batteries to give pickups higher output this in turn drives the preamp valves more and gives a higher gain tone without having to turn the gain knob up so high, resulting in elss noise thats what ive been told"

Your friend is talking bollocks. EMGs best perform on valve amps and not tube amps? Valves and tubes are the same thing, just different terminology.

Besides, those aren't even the proper EMGs, they're cheap crap manufactured under the brand name for nothing more than marketing purposes. You will have to replace those, and then you're back to square one, aren't you? You weren't pleased with your Ibanez because of the crappy stock pickups, well then don't go for another guitar that has crappy stock pickups, you're swapping problem for problem.

I still think you should sort the pickups on your current guitar, because if you're happy with all but the sound, then that's the solution.

No sorry i quoted him wrong there check my previous post (Tbh im not the most knowledge with amps)

Well i know the 260 is cheap one's the FX400 one though has a pair of 81's and 60's which are much better quality.

The RG though iv just really lost the feel of it you know. Its hard to describe its just not very fluid anymore when i try to play it.

    May i suggest...

    http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_viper-esp.html
instrumental have an ltd version of this which i tried out about two weeks ago.
    Seriously nice guitar.
Great feel, neck was lovely, fret board was well, easy to use.
    And most importantly, sounded amazing.
    It'll knock ya back €850
But hey, serious players spend serious money aye?

Go in and take a shot of it.
They have cheaper versions of the same model, i didn't bother trying them cause i knew my price range, but if you're not willing to spend that much money, you might as well try them.

    Alternitavly:
    http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/ESP-LTD-MHB-400-Baritone-Black-Satin/art-GIT0007186-001

Lovely guitar also, my mate has one and i love to play it.

But the thing is man, if you wanna stop being pissed off with your guitars, you are going to have to spend more.
Sure all it means is saving a little longer, not that bad.

I'm gonna disagree slightly. You don't need to spend more, you need to spend smarter. The second hand market in Japan is unbelievable and even the new market is much cheaper than Europe so it's worth spending a few hours on Ishibashi, see what you can spot ;)

    Oh really?
I'm new to internet shopping, so i was going by shop prices.
