Probably not the correct place for this query although kinda appearance related

I'm off to Egypt and the weather is @40 degrees therefore thinking of getting a hand held lil fan to cool me down, and stop me looking all hot and bothered!

Anyone know where I might get one???

You might wait until you get to Egypt tbh, you could probably find them sold everywhere, it will be cheaper, and you'll likely be able to haggle. Plus then you have more space in your luggage!

I'd say your best bet is to get one there! They're so handy, classy and cooling all at once!

Just to clarify, its a hand held battery operated lil fan I'm looking for - not one of the more elegant ones! Its 45 degrees where Im off to and its been recemended that we take one of these.....

The €2 shops usually sell them in summer but they might have some left. Failing that, a camping shop or gadget shop.

    Edit: Amazon have lots:

You'll get one in the airport. When you go through security, have taken off your shoes put them back on, taken off belt put it back on etc etc, there is a shop that sells electronics a little to your left. You'll get one in there.

I went to Memphis last August and it was 40 degrees. I had one of those hand held battery fans and I thought it would be great - how wrong I was!
When I put it on, instead of blowing cool air to me, it actually blew the hot air of Memphis instead. I don't know why it did this, but it was actually useless to me in the end. All I was getting was hot air blown in my face from it.
In the end I had a ordinary spanish type fan and this was really good. It gave me the cool air I needed.
I was very disappointed with the battery operated ones. I had bought one especially for going thinking it would be great, when in fact it was the opposite. This is just my experience of these fans. I would actually recommend you getting the ordinary hand held fans instead. Sometimes they are hard to get in the shops, but I picked one up on ebay quickly enough.
If you are still going to buy the battery fan, just have one of the other ones with you as well, I was glad I had one when the time came. Hope this helps.

i was in the south of spain a few wks ago for my bro wedding. On that day, it hit 40 degrees, and i had one of the spanish type hand fans and it worked great. wait till u go and get one over there. youll get it for next to nothing as there prob so commonly used. having a battery one, means you;ll always having to be carrying batteries etc.and they can be noisy. the hand fans are way more elegant.
