No but I'll start one now and we'll see how it goes.

mike65 signs his name at the bottom of every post because the last time he didn't, there was an earthquake in Tehran. The time before that there was a mudslide in Peru. Now he's afraid not to sign every post.

not a rumour, but sent around a few edited photos that were photoshopped for humourous effect.

Would only sent to a couple of mates, but would get them back within a day or two from other mates who didn't know them, and it's funny seeing how many people got it.
Started a new job once a few years ago where the guy I replaced had one of my photoshop jobs up on his desk wall. That was weird seeing it!

    Virals sure are powerful...

I know a Ruumour! Ruu was recently detained at the Republican Convention when he threw a ruubarb pie at Sarah Palin, who quickly ducked and blew the pie away with the shotgun loaned to her by Dick Chaney. But before they could put Ruu in the slammer, Obama talked, and talked, and talked them out of it. The press calls it Ruumourgate.

Plenty of posts on boards have found their way into newspapers, I remember a few things which I'd read on the soccer forum making their way into some rags.

    Lazy Journo's FTW!

    Javaboy prefers tea.

It's not on Snopes yet but I can personally confirm that this is in fact true. Coincidentally I was just finishing a cup of tea as I read that post.

I like coffee too but I only tend to drink it when I actually need a dose of caffeine.

Hey, just cause I was born Galway, I now live in a harbour that kind of looks like a blue lagoon!

I once started a rumor in school about a teacher that he had 1 nut and the other one got bitten off by a dog. My little brother is in that school now (like 5 years later) and he asked me if it was true that he only had 1 ball. I guess my rumor is still floating around!!

Not on the net as such, a mate and myself when I worked in a bar were masters though. We spread rumours about everyone. Usually humerous stuff about them hooking up with each other etc.

Also any time I'm with mates in video stores or shops etc and theres an impressionable kid in ear shot I announce to my mate that I can't believe they proved penguins fly but only when theres no one watching them, in the hope that it sticks in the kids mind and he beliefs it for life...

i wrote a post on a site called dodgyfootballrumors.com (or something like that) about one of my friends who used to play for Athlone Towns youth team but had given up a couple of years back, it said he was about to sign for Spurs for about £1m. Didnt think much of it until he told me the next week his mum had got a call from the Star asking for a quote about his move to Spurs, she said she knew nothing about it and they still ran with the story the next week iirc...

there were posts up on ATFC's and Spurs message boards going who the f*** is this guy? i lol'ed anyway!

I started one a while back that Tara Le d'Arion was male. Caught on pretty quick, she even started posting fake pics of a guy to try convince people. It's amazing how quickly people can believe a poster is not female on the net.

I assume that everyone on the internet is male. The burden of proof is on them to prove otherwise.

I once started a rumour in jest about an Irish politician, his other half and a glass coffee table.
I was kind of horrified when somebody I didn't know said it back to me a couple of months later.

    Rumors are bad, mmkay.
