Ornamental cherry tree with no fruit this year

    Hi all,

I have an inedible cherry tree in the back garden (I'll get the name of it soon), but it's without fruit this year, at all.
Last year there were a significant amounts of cherries.

I can't remember whether there any flowers at all either.

Can these trees be dormant for a year, or is this a sign of poor pollination?
