I've heard about this since the video game began development with everyone on board. I'd certainly be up for seeing them get back into a new movie, as long as the cast remains the same.

That could be great with the original cast. Apatow and Rogan in on it too? That would be amazing. I'm going to be a cynic until I hear something solid though.

Apatow and his buddies cant do it, thankfully.

Until I actually get confirmation that Bill Murray is involved this project means absolutely nothing to me, there's simply no point in making it if Murray isn't involved, it'd just be another cash in.

Wouldnt care who is in it as long as its good!

I completely disagree! Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis and Hudson have to be involved for this to even get off the ground. Ramis and Aykroyd in particular seeing as they wrote the first two.

Yeah this film needs Bill Murray but i get a feeling he wont be interested.

Yeah can't see it happening, he had a falling out with Ramis back on Groundhog day IIRC and he's been the one thats scuppered all the other attempts to get this project on the road.

as far as I know there have been several attempts to do part 3, think they were based on a script by Aykroyd that is now the story for the game.Last thing I heard before this news was that they were all on board to do part 3 except Murray who said he 'd only do a 3rd one if it was animated.I really hope he decides to do it although if he doesn't I hope they go ahead anyway.I always hate it when actors or directors get up their own arses and stop doing the things that made them famous in the first place.

I'd love to see it but it has to be Ramis, Akroyd, Murrey and not CGI rubbish.

The Chicago Tribune are saying that Ramis sent them an email confirming the story.
yes, columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my year one writing partners, gene stupnitsky and lee eisenberg. judd apatow is co-producing year one and has made several other films for sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. aykroyd, ivan reitman and i are consulting at this point, and according to dan, bill murray is willing to be involved on some level. he did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did danny and i, and ernie hudson. the concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. not much else to say at this point. everyone is confident a decent script can be written and i guess we'll take it from there.
    best,
    harold

I read that last night too. I dont like the sound of it, the original cast will prob just have small cameos or something similar.

I get a real feeling of Police Academy 7 here, the one where the original cast were too old so they had a "new recruits" movie where Mahony's nephew enrolled. Awful...

Which really kills me, I mean he does not one but two Garfield films but wont do a sequel to two of his best known films :/
