Hi folks, this is my first try at this kind of shot.

Now, i know this isn't a perfect picture, but bearing in mind, it was taken without a tripod and also from the passenger seat of a car traveling 110kmph:o

So, personally i am quite happy with how it turned out. Now i can't wait to get my 400D and tripod take a serious one:D

I presume you want c&c on the tech aspects and how you delivered rather than actual picture

If so then it looks great, no expert but I seen no visible signs of stitching, which I guess is the point of Panoramic :)

Looking forward to some fancy shots when the 400D comes out

Can I ask how you did it?
    Software + technique etc?

    I used photoshop.

It's just a case of going in to File-Automate-Photomerge.

After that you select the photos you want merged and PS does the rest.

Originally i had 16 photos, however after the merging it was quite obvious that there was too many as it didn't look good at all. So i started again using only 8, PS did the merge, i guess i was lucky in that it all went together well with no obvious signs of stitching.

I'm sure this is the simplest way. In future there will most likely be times when it won't merge well at all and fine adjustments will be needed to line things up etc, this i do not know how to do, maybe someone else would care to elaborate?

Maybe a silly question, but how did you take more than one photo while travelling at 110kmph? I mean I know you obviously can push the button on the camera more than once but surely the perspective changed with each shot as you covered a certain distance in the car between each photo. Doesn't this make stitching impossible, as objects are different sizes in the different photos being stitched together? Something funny going on here

It really all comes down to setting it up properly. If you spend the extra few seconds to setup the camera/tripod and take the shots properly you should have no problem when you get home to photoshop. After lots and lots of pano's I've found that out the hard way! The best way is to take your time and also take more, rather than less photo's as you found out :)

From looking really close at your pano I found a little thing but apart from that it's pretty bang on, especially seen as it was taken from a moving car. Very well done!

I noticed from your flickr a shot from Bryce Canyon, I was over there a few months back and got this pano from 9shots:

Look forward to seeing some more of your pano's :)

It can work out if your going on a very straight road. Otherwise your bang on, the perspective changes far too much for it to work out.

I thought the same tbh, wasn't expecting it to work at all.

The cybershot has an option to continuously take pictures once you keep your finger on the button. So i ended up taking 16 photos in the space of about 4 seconds.
