Has anyone used these guys before? I seem to remember someone talking about them before when Ebaybanned took a week off but haven't been able to see anything else about them.

So has anyone bought from them? Did it arrive faster than Paul and Jesse ^_^?

Nah just ordered a pack of batteries from these guys, I'm hoping they don't do a runner with me cash!

So has anyone ever used them before?

I've just received my first order from them and have to say they were 10/10!

I am currently putting together reviews for the gear I bought from them: RAV vest and an MC backpack. Received the package wednesday and used the RAV vest at HRTA that night. Very pleased...:D:D:D

The customer service could'nt have been better - really good communications. Very important - especially if there's a problem; which I and many others found out to our cost using other "similar" HK sellers.

What really impressed me was the fact that they contacted me just prior to shipping as they found a problem with a vest I'd ordered and informed me it was going to take 3 or 4 days to get a new product from the supplier. They asked if I was prepared to wait or offered a refund. I suggested changing for a multicam backpack which was $5 more expensive and said I'd paypal the balance.

They apologised again and said that they would send it at no extra cost! :):)

Postage from HK took about a week but what really impressed me was the fact the they sent me an email updating me of the dispatch date, with the tracking number and links to track the package both in China and Ireland!

The packing was very good - proper box, properly protected packaging.

I've received similar packages from a very similar seller in HK and they have been appauling! Torn open jiffy bags with over $350 worth of goods falling out!! I kid you not. Only for the fact that my postman is the best in the country (and I give him a bottle of whiskey every Christmas); I'd have been crying...

In my opinion the service was far better than companies such as ebaybanned and ehobby - principally because of their excellent communications. Needless to say the quality of the products is fantastic. Check out my review tomorrow (need sleep and gotta get up early in da morning):)

Regarding comparing them against ebaybanned for speed of delivery - TacGearDep were faster but I've found that speed of postage isnt everything - what is more important is being kept informed of what's going on. That's where they really excelled. I dont mind delays - as long as I'm kept informed...

In all respects www.tacticalgeardepot.com surpassed all my expectations. Buy with total confidence.

I for one, will be buying from them again (and again) in the very near future. I'm looking at their scopes and a new multicam vest to replace my old MCam CIRAS vest.

    Aidan.

    Awh Aidan you're a star!

You put my mind at rest now. I've only ordered a couple of small thinks a couple of days ago and I was shocked that they both emailed me the progress but it also updates on their site! Now hopefully it will arrive soon.

Time to order new toys! :D

    Cheers

    LOOOOOOOOOOOL

    :D:D:D:D:D:D

    I love retail therapy!!

Between the new RAV vest/backpack which I'm currently packing out for "Phoenix Rising 2" and my new M16VN which I just purchased from Tony @ Eirsoft this week, I feel all fuzzy inside:D:D:D:D

Regarding Tactical Gear Depot's website - they were/are upgrading it and I found that it was running slow sometimes - just be patient methinks. ;)

    Aidan.

It wasn't working last night but seems to be working fine today. Well I've just taken advantage of a nice (I hope) Omega Rail and a few other bits and bobs.

Now what else do they have that I may need hmmmm.......

    Defenderdude one quick question:

Did your tracking numbers show up on the hong kong post site the weekend after they emailed you them? I've just got sent mine now so I'm guessing the stuff is packed but won't go to the post office until Friday like some many other places on the web....

    Cheers

Chuck The 'Twitching With Excitement About His New Stuff' Buck

Edit: Just read the email (instead of just looking at the tracking number) and it says it won't be in the post until the 11th, oh well....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,502 ✭✭✭defenderdude

I cant actually remember what day it showed up on the tracking. It did take a day or two before it seemed to be processed but I think it was due to the local post office as opposed to the guys at Tactical Gear Depot.

They were quick and kept me informed of the steps along the way.

    Patience young Skywalker:D

I think things are only getting back to normal in China regarding postage after the olympics.

To be honest - most of the time tracking numbers dont work for me anyway - or work the day after the items show up...

Yeah bit of a shock to get an email from them at 15.45 our time with the tracking numbers compared to Paul and Jesse ^_^ who still have to answer the email I sent them yesterday!

Funny, I sent an email yesterday to them (ebaybanned) with a problem and they are still to come back to me too... tomorrow maybe:)

After spending a ton (x10++) with them I've just decided to buy from the supplier who gives me the best over all service.

Communication is everything, this is where TGDepot win hands-down and I found the the bonus is the superior packing and tracking that worked. Price is the same but I wouldnt mind paying a few $$ extra for the piece of mind...

Thanks for being the guinea pig with these guys Aidan. I'm glad it worked out so well. I'll give them a go with my next purchase.

I've a multicam vest, gloves and boonie on the way since a few days ago, will let the thread know how it turns out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

great news defenderdude...thanks for sharing. i think i will switch as well. ebaybanned is a lot of work and emails to find out basic info and coupled with the 'we post it whenever, you get it whenever' attitude, perhaps the intro of a competitor like this might shake ebanned up a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

yeah man i think i might give them a shot too they have some nice stuff. Seems a same setup as ebaybanned. lol would laugh if its the same bloke :)

Have some nice stuff I have to admit.

Ordered a vest and dump pouch from these guys last night in work. And now we wait.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,363 ✭✭✭gerrowadat

My multicam vest, boonie and gloves arrived today. Had been sent a tracking number, in english, by these guys last week.

They actually emailed me to say I was getting the last of the vests of the type I wanted, and said it had a fault nd they were returning it. So, I asked could I swap i another vest (which cost $7 more) and they said grand. Even included a "gift" of some US flag patches as a way of apology.

Stuff arrived today, was shipped on the 17th. 5 days is pretty fast for HK.

I think I can safely say that these guys beat ebaybanned by pretty much any measurement possible.

My stuff (RIS, front sight and drop pouch) arrived last week and are sitting in customs...... Hopefully An Post will send me the letter asking for the receipt soon.:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 405 ✭✭cpb

Ordered a couple of pouches from this crowd on the 12/09 and there are only being posted tomorrow one e mail to say payment has cleared I had to e mail them a couple of times to find out the situation and to get tracking number.

Ordering from overseas is becoming a right pain have had problems with all orders except the ones from ebaybanned  Support your local Airsoft Shop, in my experience they will a least try sort out your problems.

Just got this about my order.
    Hello,

    Thanks for your purchased.

Due to this few day is China National Day holidays, all the post service was suspend on Sep 30 to Oct 3, once the post service back (OCT 4), we will ship out asap.

    Thank you
    Omix

Got an auto response from Ebaybanned with the same thing.

Oh and my bits and bobs got released from customs, which is nice. very impressed with the RIS, looks like the real thing (well photos of it anyway :) ) only real prob (and its not a big one) is the top and bottom rails are the right size but the side rails are slightly smaller - either not as wide or deep. Not a big issue that a bit of electrical tape won't fix!

I just received confirmation now, about a package i purchased 7 days ago.

Bowman headset, I was unsure of what pin set to get to work with my motorola xtnid, so they said kenwood 2 pin would work, so off i went and bought it.

However since been hearing that it wont work from various people.

Anyway confirmed today that it will be shipped tomorrow, and will take 7-14 days to deliver.

So at best, thats 14 days....

Nothing more spectacular then anywhere else ive ordered...

I got a tac vest of these guys, took about 2 and ahalf weeks to get here, fairly slow shipping time but the tracking number they gave me actually worked as opposed to the ebaybanned ones:P

I've a vest, pouches and gloves on the way from these lads. Ordered last Tuesday, needed at the latest for next Wednesday. I hope to Tom Brady it'll make it.
Having said that, I just realised I never received a tracking number.

You get a tracking number off them yet? I'd some stuff vanish into the ether between here and HK for a week (only turned up today, but left HK last monday). Could be just a backlog.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,052 ✭✭✭Dr_Pepper

    its in portlaoise atm.
Was over 1 week before TGD even posted it.

Ebaybanned did the same with me (but thats the usual time it takes Jesse ^_^ to go to the post office :) )

Anyone know anywhere I can get a tan or OD molle vest before Friday for around 50 squids? Since my TGD order doesn't look like arriving in time for this shoot I need a stand in for it. Fifty might not sound like a lot of money to spend on one but consider I need this as a for 5 hours and then it's of zero use to me after that, I'm not giving Flecktarn 120 for one just for that use.

dex if i had a tan one i would lend it...perhaps an ask around for a loaner would be the safest bet....seems crazy to spend 50 for something you wont use.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

You clearly haven't witnessed my impulse buying habits.

It has gotten to the stage where I'd pay 50-60 quid for one to have it by Friday. Anyone know if Army Bargains do them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,052 ✭✭✭Dr_Pepper

I have an OD vest but not mollie.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

army bargains have tan an od molle, they charge 130 euro
for quality youd pay 40 for...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Ive just sent TGD a rather, shall we say, strong worded email. I still haven't recieved so much as a shipping confirmation from them as yet. If my package hasn't been shipped, I've instructed him to refund me. If it has already been shipped, various amounts of fecal matter will be kicked up depending on how long ago that was.

To quote Dr Pepper; TGD can blow themselves.

    Ordered 29th Sept.
Had to chase for a tracking ref.
    Received this morning.
    2.5 weeks.

And received boots that were 2 UK sizes too small.
    Never getting my service again.

Eventually I got an email at about 6am. Apparently it was shipped on the 13th. No tracking number or shipping details provided. I've asked for them 3 times now, and I'm still waiting for them. They claim it has already been dispatched. I'll believe it when it's in my hand at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Well my bowman headset finally arrived.

And guess what, it doesnt ****ing fit! Typical stupid gob****es, say it will fit but of course it doesnt, not in a million years.

And they want ME to pay for shipping back.... after their ****up.

Never again thank you, 3 weeks waiting, for a poorly packaged parcel and non working headset

And if anyone in the meantime can actually put me foward to a link with a kenwood2 pin to motorola 2pin id be greatly thankful. I'm not doing a rewire job as i botched the last one up and jsut want a headset that works, now on my 3rd headset with no luck.
