My sister used one of their face washes and it gave her what was described as a chemical burn (not a serious one but her face was quite pink and slightly swollen from it for a day or two after using it) so I tend to stay away from the stuff!

I haven't heard anything good about clearasil at all. From experience of my friends, it doesn't do much. While it might clear spots, afetr you stop using it, the spots actually come back again.

Hydrogen peroxide strips the skin.It takes away the natural oils from the skin therefore the skin will eventually be left dry.Thats why sometimes after using it, the skin can feel tight.
If your skin is any way sensitive I would keep well away from it as in the long run although it might clear the skin it is left dehydrated.

My skin was left really tight and dry and then i had to switch and start using products for sensitive skin when orginally i was oily.
    That makes sense smares thanks!!
I don't advise it very harsh on the skin

Can never remember the name of the shop, but at the top of Henry St (near the Spire) there's a shop opposite Meteor, head in there and get Tea Tre Oli Face Wash in a bottle. Much better than anything else.

Keep away from Clearasil! My sister's dermatologist said it should be taken off the market.

The Body Shop. I use the Tea Tree range when my skin gets bad. It's great stuff and not expensive.

Body Shop sales assistant told me to stay away from Tea Tree Oil products unless your skin is very, very greasy. She said it was far too harsh and strips your skin. Same with Witch Hazel. I ended up being recommended the Seaweed exfoliator, cleanser and toner and I find it to be great.

The thing about oily skin is the sebaceous glands are producing too much oil (duh!) and if stripped of oil they'll produce even more to compensate- a vicious circle! Extremely-drying products that contain harsh chemicals such as salicylic acid, hydrogen peroxide and alcohol strip away the skins oils so it goes into overdrive to make more.

You'd be best off getting a facial wash for oily skin, simple is a good range as it's perfume, acohol and colour-free so wont irritate your skin. Use an exfoliator every two or three days to get rid of dead skin cells which block your pores and cause spots.
