Red spots with night photos!

    as you can see below, these two red spots are coming up on all images taken at night. are they dust?

    Use the clone tool/healing brush to remove the spots later in photoshop (or maybe GIMP too).

    But yeah, looks like hot pixels to me.

    How long of an exposure was it?

    does it happen during the day?

    if it's only at night and only on longer exposures it's more than likely just a case of turning on long exposure noise reduction and it should help.

    Had a similar thing happen to me with my 350D on any night exposures more than 2-4 secs it would show some red spots and a few times it even came up green.

    cheers for the advice- i supose a few seconds in photoshop wont bother me that much.

    nope, only happens at night and on longer exposures. that image was 30sec. il give the noise reduction a try and see if that helps.

    Not sure if noise reduction will do anything for it, but even if it does, it will double your exposure and waste your battery. Cloning would be a lot handier.

    good idea, but i think people will start to cop on when mars is in every photo i take!:D
