iPod Touch + NUIG Wifi ??

    Hey anyway tried connect to the college wifi with an iPod touch?

    I've never connected to the net with one and might be picking up a second hand one so would be interested. Would beat queueing at a bebo-saturated computer suite to check emails!

    Officially only at off-peak times. But proxy sites go up faster than comp services can block them so getting though to bebo is never too difficult. Facebook's still good.

    Yes, you log on with your student no. and password. I would hold on till next week before buying. New ipods are being announced on Tuesday!

    I could access bebo on my laptop all last year from NUIG Wifi. Is it actually blocked over Wifi?

    On wifi, don't think so. Seems to be unblocked in suites during off-peak hours, as mentioned above.

    To the OP, the iPod Touch works fine. Just one thing I've noticed when signing in. Put in your username and password but DON'T hit the 'Done' button on the UI -- instead, exit out of the keyboard and then use the Login button on the authentication webpage itself. Failing to do this prevents you from logging in.

    There's no reason for them to block it over wifi.. the problem was all the pc suites being clogged up with bebo-users so people couldn't get work done.

    Yup, thats why I am pretty sure I was able to access it. Otherwise I did something to allow me access it and can't remember.

    ...just tried to access Bebo there and I'm on NUIG Wifi and it worked so...ya, it works on Wifi.
