Lory Meagher Cup

Have to say, Nicky Brennan left the structure of the Lory Meagher Cup a bit vague yesterday. I'm not really sure what counties it's going to contain but as a Louth hurler, I know if they put us in Tier 4, I would have no interest in giving up 4 nights a week to win it,as it would just put us back in Tier 3 again. Whereas I'd work incredibly hard for a chance to play tier 2 hurling. Does anyone have any idea what counties they're going to put in the Lory Meagher?

And do any other 2nd or 3rd-tier hurlers find it a pit patronizing when they name a cup for weaker counties after Tier 1 hurlers. Wouldnt have killed them to ask for suggestions for the names of the cups from the weaker counties themselves.

I have a feeling that this "four tier" hurling is to be based on two ideals... firstly, to look at eventually having four tiers of 8 to 10 teams linked much to the 2009 league. Secondly, to ease in the idea of County Fingal, County South Dublin, County Rathdown DunLaoighre and Dublin City teams.
