Is It Worth Anything?

I have a 1981 manual BMW E12 528i that has been sat on my drive in Galway for almost a year, apart from the odd short run every few months to keep it moving.
I did a fair bit of work on it when I first got it 4-5 years ago, including top end rebuild, new petrol tank, various electrical and perished rubber problems etc, and after that it never let me down. I put new tyres, exhaust back box and battery on it a year or two ago, but then moved to Ireland from the Uk straight into a tax/insurance slap in the face, no flat drive (let alone garage) and 2 young kids, and it stopped being my daily transport.
I've been hanging on to it hoping that I will find a house with a garage, so that I could keep it and do a bit of work/tidying on it ready for the 30 year classic barrier, but with the housing market etc it doesn't look like that is going to happen atm.
So I have to get rid of it, but it is on UK plates, so is it worth more than just scrap over here? It's done 100k miles and has various unfitted spares/upgrades like original 15"Msport wheels in need of a refurb, E28 ally rad, Marle rear shocks and some other bits and peices. All opinions appreciated, -Dan.

I'd say try and sell it, I hate seeing perfectly good cars, especially classics, going to the scrapyard.

they're a lovely car, would be a pity to see it go to a scrap-yard alright..
what kind of condition is in?

It's not worth a lot; as much as someone is willing to pay I guess. It'd probably sell better if it had a smaller engine.
Considered taking it back to the UK; are they worth anything over there?

Give us an asking price... I can never help but ask (I have 2 E28s on the drive at present...)

A friend of mine is restoring a original Irish E12, he may be interested in as a parts car but i'd agree that it would be a shame to see it scrapped

Dan, depending on condition, I know someone who'd be interested. Provided the body's not rotten and could drive itself onto a trailer.
