Well, we hope you’ve recovered from a great Electric Picnic weekend. Our head is a bit mushy, but we’ll get through it together!

So, get ready for a major SoundCheck this Thursday at Spy. Coming down to rock it out are Quigo (SoundCheck DJs), Bluebirds Are So Natural (Katie & Allbhe), Grand Pocket Orchestra and Jim Carroll (On The Record Blog / Irish Times).

    Pretty major!

As usual, it’s 7pm - 11pm in Spy on South Williams Street. Our awesome two-for-one cocktails are a pretty good way to chill on these (warm!) September evenings. And if you fancy some sweet treats, well, we’ve got you covered with an assortment of our complimentary cakes.

    Jim Carroll

Jim is probably the most respected music journalist in the land, with a record bag possibly bigger than the Irish Times office. Already rocking a Saturday night show on Phantom, look forward to hearing the newest, freshest and most awesome indie from the man Nialler9 calls - quite rightly - Ledgebag.

    Quigo
Legend. All you need to know - apart from the fact that he plays the best and most fun party indie tunes.

    Grand Pocket Orchestra

Hotly-tipped indie partiers who makes fun noise and have been rocking out supporting Fight Like Apes in recent times. They’re also hitting HWCH as well as Berlin’s POPKOMM very shortly.

We’ve asked Katie and Allbhe down to play their favourite tunes because we love their blog (and Katie’s old blog) and the magazine Allbhe works for (Analogue), and their threads, and most importantly, their taste in music.
