and i have little red dots all over my legs (not raised/bumps and definitely not ingrown hairs) - does anyone know if epilation will help this ?

The first time I epilated I got little red dots on my legs and the next day they stung like CRAP. However after a couple more times my legs were grand after it. (the thought of epilating 'down there' terrifies me, frankly) One with the ice numbing thingy would be good as it HURTS like hell. A lot of the expensive ones have an electric razor function too which I think is a waste of money. If I wanted an electric razor that's what I'd be buying! Argos have a good few epilators- it's a good place to start comparing different types and prices. And if there's no Argos near you Argos.ie is still handy for checking out different brands etc.

i have the silk epil by braun. no idea how expensive it is though cause a friend gave it to me (she found it too much trouble and stuck with shaving)! i find it really good and the more times you do it the less painful it gets. mine came with the freezer pack thing too which is very handy to numb the area!

i think its a good idea to get your legs (or wherever) waxed before you start epilating it, then the hair will grow back thinner and more gradually, and it won't be as painful! so far i've only used it on my legs, like the previous poster i'm too scared to use it on my bikini line! if you do get one its definitely worth sticking with it, i only need to do it once every 2 weeks or so now, which is way less hassle than shaving every second day!

I have one of the braun ones too. I have it a few years, so didn't get the ice pack thing. It's great if you stick with it and most times I don't find the pain that bad, especially with regular use. (There are a few times when I've been in a hurry/lazy and gone back to veet and I always regret it) The first few times were painful if I remember rightly, but if you stick with it, it gets better. And I have to say, the hairfree legs last which is great :)
