He's doing so well as a trainer at the minute too. He's gone back training Alex Arthur and Arthur is making the weight easily again due to that.

If this goes ahead I'd love if Wayne could win and hang them up. However I doubt he'd be able to leave it with that if he did win. A victory would just give him delusional aspirations again.

The good news from this article is Tommy Egan is still actively looking to promote bouts despite a slightly disappointing debut.

Im probably one of the few who would love to see him in one more fight, and on irish soil too... so i can go and see it.:D

Good idea / bad idea ? Remains to be seen. I was thinking more along the lines of a 10 rounder against a respectable journeyman. However, should he get the bout in Ireland with a large tv audience I think he would fair better than last time against Ruiz... and i reckon he has the beatings of Kiko... Who by the way scored a KO1 victory over a guy with 0-6 record recently:rolleyes: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=258662&cat=boxer

He should get a win under his belt and try as hard as possible to get a fight with Kiko in Ireland. Thats probably the best way to finish his career at this stage and go out winning.

I'd like to see wayne fight in the flesh, But I think after his last bout the guy is finished.

People willing to still pay to see him fight are part of the problem Sorry that's just my opinion,
Personally I would ever like to see him enter a ring again as a fighter,He done enough and can be proud of himself , Please call it a day and put all that vast knowledge to use and help up and coming Irish fighters.

Yeah I'm his problem, I spoke to Wayne on his site and told him IMO he should retire by my opinion or yours doesn't matter. Wayne wants to fight and would do so in a back alley if he had to.

 works well , take things personally worth another:rolleyes:

OK Anyone willing to pay to see fighters who a well pass their best and that could easy get hurt ( in Waynes case re-hurt)step back in the ring are selfish muppets and cannot have any love or respect for the sport.
And because of these muppets and their money you have greedy promotors willing to sacrifice once great fighters for the sake of a few extra quid.
    IMO

Waynes missus must take a big portion of the blame here, he's long past it both physically and mentally and has nothing to offer, george foreman had a big ko punch, wayne does not so will have to endure long fights every time and lots of punishment, its not like he's poor or anything!

I have always maintained that Paul. She is a money hungry demon with no regard for her husbands well being! That might sound harsh, but it's fact!

Lets not be too critical. He's not looking for a rematch with Rabanales!
He wants to go out on a win, thats the type of guy he is. If he gets the rematch with Ruiz he'll win, he wants to do it in Dublin too, which I would support and go watch him.
He's addicted to training, and anyone who trains hard and feels good will always want to fight no matter how old, I mean look at some of the greats coming back in their 40's.
Remember the scan he got gave him the all clear, the cyst has been with him all his life, he's not punchy and is still very sharp.
Although I said he should pack it in, in retrospect I'd like to see him go out on a winning streak.

I remember hearing a story when he was in his amateur days.........before a big championship not sure if it was worlds or olympics...........any way wayne was training really really hard and the coaches felt he was going to peak before the c/ships started.......so they told wayne to stay in bed for a few mornings and not do the runs.........of course wayne being wayne.......he used to jump out the window and do his run for an hour+ and be back in bed before the coaches got up in the morning  an animal to train.

He's on Nuts TV tonight. They are showing his first defence of his WBC world bantamweight title against the then undefeated Johnny Bredahl.

Finishing his career with 56 wins and 2 losses,at super flyweight Bredahl held the WBO world titile and scandinavian title. At Bantam he held the WBA title and European as well as other international titles.

I think its on around the half 8 mark
