i built my computer myself, not for gaming but for more music editing n such

    my specs:

    Windows XP SP2 2002

    CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
    - 2x 1024KB Cache L2
    - 2x 2800MHz
    - Socket AM2
    - 800MHZ FSB
    - Dual Core Technology
    - 64Bits
    + cooling fan.

    GAME MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    xp 32bit
dual core 2.6 ghz pentiumD or AMD athlon 64x2 4400 (or better)
    1gb ram on xp

whats going on? when i start the screen and try start a new game i dont know why its going so slow, at about 1 movement per second and thats not exagerating

iv recently installed the drivers for me new Nvidea Gforce on-board graphics card that i got with the motherboard, which is also designed for gaming too

can anybody think of anything i may have done wrong?? iv also had this problem with my laptop my sister was playing rollercoaster tycoon3 and it was slow but i didnt mind cause i knew i had a better comp, and was also desinged for gaming too.

What graphics card? AC is a fairly modern game and requires a good graphics card.

Specs required: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended)

    Hi Hexagramer.

Would you be able to post more details about your PC? How much ram you've got installed, how much free disk space you've got etc.

Also, we'll need some more information on your graphics card. I know you say it and the motherboard are designed for gaming, but maybe they're outdated. I know Spore won't play on certain older graphics cards, even though they meet the relevant criteria (eg ram, clock speed etc.)

Give us some more information and hopefully we can get your problem sorted. In the meantime try running Spybot and AVG to scan for viruses/other malware that may be hogging system resources.

Onboard graphics (even if its a Nvidia Geforce chipset) usually means it is a very low end one, such as a 6200 or less, unfortunately these cards generally cant play games well due to first not having dedicated video memory mostly and also the fact that they are not powerfull enough, it would probably be worth your while buying a decent dedicated PCIe video card (providing your motherboard supports this which i persume is true) and the game would play at a better framerate

It'll be just your gfx card(integrated) or ram.

Yep that graphics is nowhere near fast enough for Assassins Creed. I would recommend either an Nvidia 8800gt for around 100 euro or for more power an Ati HD4850 for around 140 euro. You can get 1tb drives for only 110 euro.

Who told you that 7050 is designed for games? To put it bluntly, it's absolutely **** for games, about as slow as integrated video card possibly get - your machine as is is as far from a gaming machine as possible in its current state, I hope someone in the likes of PC World didn't sell it to you on that line. Check out the new Ati 4670, Squall20 posted some benchmarks, looks to be only about 60-70 euro and with a very low TDP. Win Win, going by that should run Assassins Creed at highish settings. I'm surprised you even got AC running on that 7050, it must run at about 5fps on low settings...

Basically buy yourself a grafixxx card mate. The rest of the specs look grand.

hardware a side this game is notoriously buggy on PC not sure if the latest 1.02 patch has fixed the issues but id definately look at updating the game itself with the lastest patch.
