cable or mmds

    i'm moving into a house in galway city with ntl. how would i know if it cable or mmds?

    Check for aerials on the roof, the channel line up may give an indication or failing those, call UPC.

    In the city, much more likely to be cable but there is MMDS in parts.

    Check the roof for something that either looks like :

    or

    21.jpg

    Those are the types of MMDS antennae used in Cork anyway.

    If you plug your TV into a cable outlet on the wall, you will pick up about 18 tv channels if it's cable. If it's MMDS you'll get nothing at all without a box.
