    Hi there

I just got the message 'card error' on my Fuji Finepix F470. I really would like to retrieve all the pics i've taken so i don't want to restore the card.

I'm using Mac OSX. Does anyone know any free utilities i could download to get my photos back?

    Thanks in advance

    Fi

What happens when you insert the card into your card reader (inside your computer or via USB)?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhotoRec

I have used the above free one a few times for people ,,,even one girl who had deleted all her card !

Its sister program Testdisk has also saved data off a broken external hard drive

Hi Quertz I havent actually tried connecting it to my mac yet (i will later and get back to you) but the last time this card error thing happened a few months back it came up on my friends PC as just an empty folder. I just restored the card then but i really want to save the pics i have on it this time. I am definitely throwing out this dodgy card if and when i get my pics back

DominoDub thanks i will try this utility later when i get home :)

Yeah plugged my camera into my mac last night and the pics were there alright (thank God!). I had thought because my cam wasn't reading them there wouldn't be a hope of seeing them through my computer. Have copied them over and dumped the memory card.

Thanks all anyway and sorry for being so dumb! :)
