    Hey All,

    I'm looking to go away for 2/3 nights in October or November, but I don't know where :(

    I've gone on to Bugettravel/ryanair/aerlingus to suss out prices but I don't even know what country to start looking in.

    Can anyone recommend a City, thats good value for money ? I've looked on the Travel Reviews thread, but alot of it seems to be far away, im just looking for something cheap and cheerful ( does it exist lol)

    thanks

    Pretty much all eastern european cities are fairly good value for money. Normally when I'm booking a citybreak I usually pick which ever has the cheapest flight at the time I want to go.

    Been to Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Krakow and liked them all..........I'm obviously easily pleased. :pac:

    Dusseldorf is not bad - but make sure you fly Aer Lingus as the airport they fly to is close enough to the city.

    Good old night life - all located in the one area so a pub crawl is easy and the shops aren't bad either - Cologne close by is well worth a trip as well

    The great thing about the Dusseldorf flights - they leave after work on Friday, and you come back Sunday evening about 10pm. So you basically get two whole days there. And the airport is about a 15 mins taxi away. Nightlife is great craic - it's small enough to see everything, but big enough to keep you occupied. It has my favourite Christmas Market. IMO, it's the best in Germany - so if I were you, I'd hold off until then. It starts on the 20th Nov this year.

    you have to go to Zadar in croatia, beautiful food, cheap sunny, amazing scenery and ryanair fly there direct from dub.

    I second prague, krakow or budapest. Really nice cities & loads to do. Much cheaper than here especially krakow & budapest.

    My favourites for short breaks, all good value and easy to get to, in no particular order;

    Berlin, Valencia, Lisbon, Vilnius, Rome, Budapest.

    As SuerStarHoney said, mess around with dates on the airline websites and just grab whatever is cheapest. That's how I discovered Valencia.

    Went to Madrid last November and it wasn't as expensive as I expected. Great city and the weather was really nice. It was a good time to visit as apparently it gets unbearably hot during the summer.
