I came home after a weekend away adn went to start up my computer (Dell Dimension 5000, 3.4Ghz, 3GB Ram, XP Home).

I starts up as normal, it gets to the XP Loading Screen, then the screen goes blank (normal) but then nothing happens. I've tried restarting, in safe mode, last known good configuration etc nothing works. When I restart in safe mode, is stalls after "System32/Drivers/Mup.sys"

Apart from my wireless keyboard and mouse, there are no other usb devices connected, and I have tried starting without it.

Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Check the fans are turning when it's booting.

If any USB storage was removed since it last worked, put it back and try again. The pc may be searching for something it expects to find.

It may also be a corrupt user account, in which case you need to log on as administrator

I opened the case and blew out the dust etc, and cleared it from the fan area, and it worked! Cool! Thanks all!
