I already posted this in sleeping and dreams forum but Im just wondering, does anyone think that this was due to paranormal activity when I was asleep?!? Its still worrying me and pis$ing me off!!!

I had a really nasty dream last night...

I dreamt that I was lying in my bed and I could hear this screaming. A boy aged around 8 or 9 with dark floppy hair and dressed in a black gown was sitting on my bed and was staring at me. this next part really happened, I did my best to wake up but I couldnt open my eyes, move the top half of my body and I could feel pressure on my chest as if someone was sitting on top of me, I also found it quite hard to breathe. I could only move the lower part of my body because I could feel my legs moving about! Anyways back to the dream, I remember not liking the look of the little boy and I tried to turn on the lamp next to me but it wouldnt work, so I jumped outta the bed and fell against the tv, grabbed the handle to open the door. When I got the door open, there was another door behind it and another one again with a padlock on it. The little boy walked over to me and said ''aisling, I am not letting you out of this, Im not going to let you wake up, im keeping you here''... I started to cry and all of a sudden, I was back in bed, and the boy is beside me and reaches out, touching my face, when he did this,I could really feel the pressure on my chest getting heavier...eventually when I woke up I was in a sweat... Needless to say I turned the light on for the rest of the night!! All day today, the right hand side of my neck, into my shoulder and down my arm is killing me, my eyes were in bits today too and I have never felt so tired its like I havent slept in about three days!!!!

Anyone any ideas of what this was about?!?
    Thanks!!!

im no expert, actually the only dream i wanted to wake up in was when i had a suitcase of money and i wanted to bring it with me when i woke up...

but it "seems" that theres something stopping you/ holding you back in your whole life?

or it could have been an out of date cheese product, who knows, at least it wasnt as bad as the dreams i had about aliens when i was a kid ;)

That sounds exactly like sleep paralysis. It's common enough and nothing to worry about!

    Sleep paralysis
Very common, pressure on the chest is a usual thing. Happened to me a few times but i knew what was going on so didnt freak out

Basically your mind is awake but your body is asleep

You dreamt about those doors, and your legs probably werent moving

At least you know for future experiences. Make the next one fun but trying to imagine something, since your still dreaming you kind of hallucinate :D

It can often help to have a safety image to let you know you are dreaming. Like a blanket or a t-shirt you wore as a child.

Like something from your childhood that you found comforting.

Im not sure as to the actual technique of doing it but people who suffer with bad dreams are told to use it and it can help to wake them up.

Just thought Id throw it in.
