What sectors have more jobs because of recession?

In this time of so called recession, does anyone know what types of businesses do better and have more employment because of the recession??

An example would be the car breakers that I was in today. In the past 6 months they have seen business increase by 30% and meant that they had to take on an extra mechanic and general operative. They say that people are flocking to them to buy second hand parts that would have been bought new in better econimic times.

Are there any other sectors in business or employment that will be creating employment out of the bad times - other than the repo companies.

    Dan

What about industries which can resist recession?

    Gambling?

    Off licences?

Energy rating may become the next big industry.

I've a friend who works with a firm that specialises in risk analysis. He said that the financial downturn was good for them because loads of firms were employing them to see how they can avoid risky decisions.

    professional bums and professional beggars.

Recession will also see a rise of buskers of many kinds, even those that will read awful poetry out loud in the middle of Grafton Street.

Anything in the literature or music sectors tend to do well in recessions. People take solace in the arts when money is short and life goes to sh*t. Lots more time for books and music too, when you're unemployed.

Also, ketchup and bakes beans companies do really well. For obvious reasons.

Forget about it. Already far too many people involved - although all the blurb would have you thinking otherwise! (including the Sun. Bizz Post article the other day)..
Energy Assessor Training - now they're the ones who will make the money!
