    Hi,
I've been dying my hair black for the last few years. I want to change my hair colour to brown and get blonde highlights but it means ill have to get all the old colour stripped out of my hair. Just wondering if anyone has had this done and does it damage your hair much?

Got this done a year ago, I'd been dying my hair black for ages. It didn't all come out the first time, took about 9 months and a couple of trips back before My hair had no lingering black bits (but then I had been dying it like a maniac and some parts of my hair would have had permanent black dye bet into them dozens of times over about 3 years). My hair wasn't in the best of nick afterwards but it was absolutly nothing compared to the state of it while I was dying it black.

Your best bet is probably to talk to a hairdresser and see what they can do, it might not be possible to get all the black out of your hair by stripping it. Mine was very helpful and realistic about how long it would take before my hair was all the one colour again :) A year later though and I have lovely, shiny well conditioned hair and I'm really glad I did it

yes got this done about 9 years ago. I somehow managed to dye my hair black by mistake. I thought it would turn out a dark plum colour but ended up black!!(i was 17)

I got mine stripped. It was orange when stripped and they dyed it brown then. Your hair is really dry after this so you need to condition very well. But once you mind it & give it plenty of TLC you should be ok.

    Thanks for the replys!
How much should i expect to pay for it? Went to the hairdressers yesterday and she said to get my hair stripped, put in a colour and toner it would cost around 125 euro but could be a bit dearer..

They'll all do it, depending on the condition of your hair. Lisak your hair must be in very bad condition for them to risk stripping it...your hair can just break off if it isn't strong enough.
