Good Hairdryer

Can anyone recommend a good hairdryer. I have shoulder length dark straight hair which I always let dry naturally. I use the ghd on nights out to make it a bit more sleek. However on a daily basis I would like to start using a haridryer to try and get it looking better (dont want to use ghd everyday)

So I need a good one that will dry hair quickly and give really good professional finish?

I always go to a hair salon that sells hairdryers and buy whatever model the stylists use.

Whatever you get, make sure it's ionic, they're incredible!

What does ionic mean in terms of a hairdryer?

I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I think it's got some sort of rock or crystal in it and when you turn it on it blows the ions into your hair. I know it sounds ridiculous, but several hairdressers recommended them to me. I finally tried my roommate's and it's excellent! They take much less time to blow dry your hair and make it shinier. It's worth trying, I'll never go back to a regular hairdryer ever!!!

    You know that diffuser thingy.
Could that make naturally straight hair look artfully touselled or is for curly hair only.

You could try using some mousse and 'scrunching' your hair in your hand while using the diffuser.

I think it would do the opposite of tousling because the point of it is to make curly hair less frizzy, but I could be wrong. You might be better off with one of these things:

I forget what they're called but they streamline the flow. Do you blow your hair dry with your head bent over?

That thing makes my hair straight.

I blow dry head upside down, to the left side, to the right side and finally head up.

Hmm, aside from using curlers I don't know then. Is your hair particularly straight and won't hold volume? I have really thick and curly hair so I have the exact opposite problem, always try to tame it, I'm just going by what my straight friends do!

Yes I have flat hair. You can't imagine the pain.
    Thanks anyways Pillypen!

Well my sister-in-law lives among a lot of gays in Georgia, they've given her some fab hair tips. I never bothered asking because her hair is straight as a pin and fine, but she did say one taught her a certain way to blow dry it for more volume. I'll ask the next time I talk to her!
