Distrubia - how disappointing!

    Hello all, new user!

Just spent €3 on a film tonight that I found very disappointing and just wondered if anyone else saw it and agreed? Remake of Rear Window in US teen movie style but totally failed to grip me, no real plotline as such, had so much potential to be a truly terrifying movie but considering that as soon as I saw the neighbour I knew how it would end - any thoughts anyone? Any recommendations for good serial killer movies?

Looking forward to all comments good or bad:D

I liked it and for 3 euro you were hardly robbed. David Morse is absolutly fantastic in his role and is truly meancing. In fact you could argue that his performance alone is enough to justify seeing the film.

I highly recommend Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, it's the best film in the genre and is truly chilling.

Never said I was robbed - just said I was disappointed! Think we will have to agree to disagree, thought the film was not as good as it could have been, would never buy it to watch again, in fact considering the amount of films out there I would have to be paid to watch it again if I was ever unlucky enough to be put in that position though! Just my opinon.

Agree David was very menacing though, he has that look! Thanks for the recommendation, will certainly follow it up.

I think that for a PG13 horror film it handled it's self extremely well. The middle section was a bit slow but the ending was fantastic, the way it built the tension was truly impressive. I must watch it again, have'nt seen it since it was in the cinema.

I enjoyed this when i was it. Shia Lebouf was good, the female lead was hot, and it had a few jumps. For €3, thats a bargain.

Very decent film.. as Darko said, very well handled for a PG13 horror / thriller.

I think i'm in the minority that always enjoys Shia LaBoeuf's performance.

I think you could have done much worse for €3.

Well theres your first mistake mate.;)

As for good Serial Killer movies, they dont get made anymore. Some older ones worth tracking down include

Henry : Portrait of a Serial Killer (best serial killer ever IMHO)
Murder Set Pieces (make sure and get the uncut version)
    A Blade in the Dark
And for a different take on the serial killer genre maybe try the August Underground trilogy.Be warned though, they arent for everyone.;)

I too enjoy LeBoeuf and am quite excited for Eagle Eye. Like Lukas Hass there's something about LeBoeuf that just makes him likeable. I was watching Evens Stevens on TV yesterday and even back then he was immensly likeable.

I actually liked this movie, I guess I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I don't know how you could be disappointed unless you where expecting something Oscar worthy.

It was an enjoyable enough diversion, but I think the tone was too lighthearted for it to be memorable. One thing I didn't like about it was the product placement. The Xbox and Itunes references were about as subtle as a James Blunt song... It's a solid switch off your brain thriller though, even if I'm not a fan of Shia's performance here

I must say I enjoyed it, Didn't think it was great by any means but it kept me going for the 90min or so. As with most films a couple of things got on my nerves a bit like that cop was so bloody pointless. but all in all i'd give it a 6.5/10

The Xbox 360 is the number 1 owned gaming console in the states and iTunes is the number 1 used mp3 downloading software. Using them makes perfect sense. Its like showing someone using google to search for something. I have no problem with product placement when it reflects reality. Had he been using a PS3, hooked up to a Sony LCD whilst using his Sony mp3 player then I would have had a problem. Much likes the overuse of nokia phones, billboards and signs in Cloverfield.
