Derby at home is a nice draw, provided we get through of course.

Sheffield United again. Some good games between them and Arsenal in recent years.

Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Everton/Blackburn all seem to have got tough draws. Still, luck of the draw and all that.

Hmm, I'd fancy Liverpool at 7/1 to win the cup, good opening round against Crewe who are a shadow of thier old selves when Dario Gradi was managing.

Tough draw for us away at United. Might aswell play them now and get knocked out and then give our full concentration to the league OR beat them and start to look at the prospect of winning it again this year. Hopefully Fergie will play his 2nd team and Southgate will play his first. Optimistic....

Wow, another premiership team. Fun stuff. Still, Portsmouth at home is the toughest draw there.

Can anyone tell me why some prem teams have to qualify for this round but some don't?

Sides competing in Europe get a bye into 3rd round so they have one less game (plus fixture congestion is eased because of sides in qualifiers for CL and UC)
