Installing Stove with back boiler

Does anyone know the cost of installing a stove with back boiler? I currently have an oil boiler(firebird) with about 10 rads.

I'm hoping the stove boiler will heat these rads and the room.

Standard stoves with back boilers start at around €600.

Steels Bends, down-sizers etc can be expensive, if required.

Haven'y seen a "contemporary" style stove with a back boiler.
Costs will depend on chimney, hearth size (position of stove) etc

    Well worth getting one installed.
Friends have it and are very happy with it. (Not sure they have 10 rads)

We purchased two stoves recently, in Lisnaskea just across the border. Great deal, 100,000btu & 55,000btu both delivered for less than €1800.

Mother had a local plumber install her 55,000btu stove in an old cottage (lots of knocking and ripping required) it cost €1400 material and labour including the sparks.. bit steep but the job is well done and the stove works a treat..

Our 100,00btu monster is waiting on the build to progress..

    Cheers

    Hi All,

Looking at the hercules stove 30b. Costs about £1300 pounds in the uk. Has anyone installed one of these?

Also the depth of the hercules is 540cm however the hart of the fireplace is only 450cm. Anyone have any ideas on this?

sorry, only seeing this now (looking at getting a stove with back boiler myself)

Parents in law have a hercules - they love it, great heat, and pretty good back boiler, but they do supplement with oil.

As a stove/brand etc they are extremely happy with it.

Not 100% sure what size theirs is or can't help you with the depth/width question.

Attempting to resurrect this FrankenThread, hopefully it doesn't upset the Mods.
We have a standard wood-burning stove to compliment our 12KW GFCH, 15 rads I think.

I'd really like to replace it with a back-boiler stove, or to put one in the other room that has a fireplace (temporarily filled in).

I'd like to have manual valves so I could either keep the heat in place or direct it to the whole house, depending on the season (don't want to be roasting the kids in bed in summer while we have an hour of cozy).

I'd also like to be able to power the pump from an external source, in case there happened to be no electricity. Our solar batteries don't currently power our whole board (also in the market for a fix for that..).

Asked the well-known plumbing firm in D18 to quote for it, they sent out a pair of lads who did that sucking in between teeth thing and said they wouldn't do it. Something about valves and backpressure.

Most search engine hits for this sort of work seem to be from the UK for some reason. Are there regs here that prohibit it now?

I still think it's well worth trying to get this done, as gas won't be around forever, but wood could be.
