    Hi Lads,
Going travelling in a few weeks and I was wondering if I could get something that would keep my beautiful mac book powered up when in flight? What kind of adapter do I need etc?
    Thanks
    Gary

Really? Are plugs few and far between on economy? Balls! Will give them a mail or a ring or something so, cause yes it's economy!!

So what do people reckon, is it worth while to get the second battery?

Should I still go ahead and get the Airline Adapter and hope me and de missus get an upgrade :D

Should I get a second battery? Are they easy to change mid flight? Could I just wait till I fly to Dubai and get one?

Unless you are traveling on a regular basis, the charger will be something of an white elephant. On those links showed, given that the battery is almost as cheap I personally would opt for it as it will be of use long term. Also, if they charger is dependent on being in the right seat, it may not even be useable whereas the battery will keep you motoring.

Ya I might just go away and get the battery, chances of getting upgraded in the flights are slim and none, so chances of having a port for charging are non existant.

    Itinerary is here: http://www.gearoidcorcoran.com/wordpress/category/travel/

Is it easy to swap out the battery? This voids things does it?

7 hour flights, 8 hours flights I know it's not that long but I reckon I've a bout of ADHD :D

Put a bid in on a battery so we'll see how we get on!

I bought an airline adapter last March and used it once. I was off to Perth for three weeks for work and I thought I'd be bored on the epic flights.

Firstly, there is not enough room in economy to use a laptop. I flew business class back home (on the A380) well you could swing a cat while using your laptop.

Secondly, the airline was a complete waste, if it charged the macbook or even doubled as a car charger that would be a different story.

Also, while in Singapore airport check out the Apple shop, DIRT CHEAP also smokes are v.cheap
